Suitcase Theatre is a theatre company based in Dunedin, New Zealand.

In 2014 the company's production Mental Notes was awarded best community event at the Dunedin Theatre Awards. [1]

In 2017 Suitcase Theatre produced a flash-mob style performance of scenes from Jane Austen at the Dunedin Public Library, to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the death of Jane Austen. Performers included Emer Lyons, Gabby Golding, Kimberley Buchan, Brook Bray, Sofie Welvaert and Yvonne Jessop. [2]

The planned Dunedin Fringe Festival 2020 production of Dear Boobs on Stage, a breast-cancer themed show, was rebooked at the Regent Theatre for September of that year due to Covid-19. [3] [4]

The festival was cancelled in 2020 due to concerns around Covid-19. A subsequent fundraising campaign raised more than $5000 to support more than 750 artists affected by the cancellation.

She is co-founder of Prospect Park Productions, an organisation aiming “to create and produce original New Zealand theatre and collaborative projects that reach into other art forms." Dunedin Writers & Readers Festival Literary festival in New Zealand

The Dunedin Writers & Readers Festival is a literary festival held in Dunedin, in the South Island of New Zealand. Since its inception in 2014, there have been in total six festivals, including a special Celtic Noir event in 2019. The event is based mainly at the Dunedin Public Art Gallery but utilises Toitū Otago Settlers Museum, the Otago Pioneer Women's Hall, the Dunedin Central Library and in 2021 the central live music venue Dog with Two Tails. Festival events include talks, book launches, workshops, a storytrain or storybus, and in some years the unveiling of a new plaque on the Dunedin Writers' Walk.

The PlayhouseTheatre is a theatre in Dunedin, New Zealand. It was converted from a lodge into a 100-seat theatre by the Southern Comedy Players in 1962. Since the late 1960s it has been home to the Dunedin Repertory Society, who regularly perform youth productions for children.

Allen Hall, also known as the Allen Hall Theatre, is a building at the University of Otago in Dunedin, New Zealand. It is named after James Allen, Vice-Chancellor and then Chancellor of the University, who was instrumental in raising funds for building the hall. Originally the student association building, opened in 1914, the hall now operates as a theatre. Allen Hall is known for the series of Lunchtime Theatre performances.
