Mamata Banerjee is an Indian politician who is serving as the eighth and current chief minister of the Indian state of West Bengal since 20 May 2011,the first woman to hold the office. Having served multiple times as a Union Cabinet Minister,Mamata Banerjee became the Chief Minister of West Bengal for the first time in 2011. She founded the All India Trinamool Congress in 1998 after separating from the Indian National Congress,and became its second chairperson later in 2001. She often refers to herself as Didi.

Nabin Chandra Bag is an Indian politician,member of All India Trinamool Congress. He is an MLA,elected from the Khandaghosh constituency in the 2011 West Bengal Legislative Assembly election as a Communist Party of India (Marxist) candidate. He left the party and joined Trinamool Congress in 2015. In 2016 and 2021 assembly election he was re-elected from the same constituency.
The Seventeenth Legislative Assembly of West Bengal constituted after the 2021 West Bengal Legislative Assembly elections which were concluded earlier on 29 April 2021 and the results were announced on 2 May 2021. The tenure of West Bengal Legislative Assembly is scheduled to end on 7 May 2026.
The 2024 Indian general election was held in West Bengal in seven phases between 19 April and 1 June 2024 to elect 42 members of the 18th Lok Sabha. The result of the election was announced on 4 June 2024.
Debaprasad Roy, popularly known as Mithuda, is an Indian politician from Jalpaiguri. He was a Member of the West Bengal Legislative Assembly from 2006 to 2016,representing the Jalpaiguri and Alipurduars Assembly constituencies.
