Sukree Onsham (born 8 October 1944 [1] ) is a professional golfer from Thailand. He was the most successful Thai golfer of his era. [2]
Onsham started his career as the club professional for Royal Bangkok Sports Club in Bangkok, Thailand. [3] He participated in the World Cup in 1969.
Onsham was the first man from Thailand to play in the Masters, playing in the 1970 and 1971 events. He missed the cut both years. [4] He is often referred to as the first non-white person to play at the Masters; [5] this is false. The Japanese golfers Torakichi Nakamura and Koichi Ono played in the 1958 Masters Tournament well before Onsham. Also several other players from Japan, Taiwan, and the Philippines played in the event during the 1960s.
Onsham had much success in 1972 on the international circuit. Early in the year at the Malaysian Open, he finished one behind Japan's Takashi Murakami, tying Walter Godfrey and American Marty Bohen for second. [6] On 23 October 1972, Onsham finished runner-up to American Bob Murphy at the 1972 Wills Masters, an event on the Australian Tour held outside of Sydney. [7] Two weeks later he posted another runner-up in Australia at the Dunlop International, four shots behind Tony Jacklin, finishing tied for second with David Graham. [8] That year he also placed third at the Japan Open Golf Championship. [1]
Two years later, Onsham won an event, the Malaysian Dunlop Masters, defeating Australia's Ted Ball and Malaysia's Bobby Lim by two shots. [9]
Onsham's career began to wind down in the 1980s, however, he did have some success that decade. He finished runner-up at the 1981 Indonesia Open. A young Payne Stewart made a 20-foot birdie putt to defeat him and Taiwanese golfers Hsu Chi-San and Chen Tze-chung on the first playoff hole. [10] As of 1988, he was a golf instructor. [2]
Onsham also represented Thailand multiple times in the World Cup. [1]
As a senior, he played on the European Senior Tour and Japan Seniors Tour from 1998 to 2000. [1]

Lee Buck Trevino is an American retired professional golfer who is regarded as one of the greatest players in golf history. He was inducted to the World Golf Hall of Fame in 1981. Trevino won six major championships and 29 PGA Tour events over the course of his career. He is one of only four players to twice win the U.S. Open, The Open Championship and the PGA Championship. The Masters Tournament was the only major that eluded him. He is an icon for Mexican Americans, and is often referred to as "The Merry Mex" and "Supermex," both affectionate nicknames given to him by other golfers.
Anthony Jacklin CBE is an English golfer. He was the most successful British player of his generation, winning two major championships, the 1969 Open Championship and the 1970 U.S. Open. He was also Ryder Cup captain from 1983 to 1989; Europe winning two and tying another of these four events.
Neil Chapman Coles, MBE is an English professional golfer. Coles had a successful career in European golf, winning 29 important tournaments between 1956 and 1982. After reaching 50, he won a further 14 important Seniors tournaments between 1985 and 2002, winning his final European Seniors Tour event at the age of 67. He also played in eight Ryder Cup matches between 1961 and 1977.
Thongchai Jaidee is a Thai professional golfer who plays on the PGA Tour Champions. He formerly played on the Asian Tour and the European Tour. On the Asian Tour, he holds the record for the most career earnings and is second in victories having won 13 times. He has won the Order of Merit on the Asian Tour three times during his career. Jaidee was the first man to win US$2 million, US$3 million, US$4 million, and US$5 million on the Asian Tour in prize money.
Graham Vivian Marsh MBE is an Australian golfer. He was one of the leading Australian players of his generation. During his career he won more than 70 tournaments around the world, including 10 on the European Tour and 20 on the Japan Golf Tour plus two senior major championships.
Maurice Bembridge is an English golfer. Early in his career he had some success on the British PGA, winning the 1969 News of the World Match Play and the 1971 Dunlop Masters. He would go on to win six times on the British PGA's successor circuit, the European Tour. He also had some success overseas, winning the New Zealand Golf Circuit's Caltex Tournament in 1970 and the Kenya Open three times. In addition, Bembridge broke Augusta National Golf Club's course record at the 1974 Masters Tournament with a 64. Late in his career, Bembridge had some success on the European Senior Tour, winning twice.

Guy Lewis Hunt is an English professional golfer. He won the 1977 Dunlop Masters and played in the 1975 Ryder Cup.
Brian George Charles Huggett, is a Welsh professional golfer. He won 16 events on the European circuit between 1962 and 1978, including two after the formal start of the European Tour in 1972. In 1968 he won the Harry Vardon Trophy for leading the Order of Merit and he was in third place in 1969, 1970 and 1972. He won 10 times on the European Seniors Tour between 1992 and 2000, including the 1998 Senior British Open.
Peter Joseph Butler was an English professional golfer. He was one of the leading British golfers of the 1960s and early 1970s. He won a number of important tournaments including the 1963 PGA Close Championship and the 1968 French Open. He played in four Ryder Cup matches between 1965 and 1973 and three times in the World Cup. He played in the Open Championship 23 times, with two top-10 finishes, and seven successive times in the Masters from 1964 to 1970.

Chen Tze-ming is a Taiwanese professional golfer who has played on the PGA Tour, the Japan Golf Tour, the Asian Golf Circuit, the Asian Tour and the PGA European Tour. In the U.S., he is often referred to as T.M. Chen. His younger brother, Chen Tze-chung, is also a professional golfer who has won tournaments on the Japanese, Asian and American tours.

Peter Michael Paul Townsend is an English professional golfer. After a very successful amateur career he turned professional in 1966. He had a number of wins in the early part of his professional career including the Piccadilly PGA Close Championship in 1968. He represented Great Britain twice in the Ryder Cup, in 1969 and 1971.
The Malaysian Dunlop Masters was a golf tournament in Malaysia in the 1970s and 1980s. Taiwanese golfer Chen Tze-ming won the 1978 event by a record 15 strokes. Despite his record-breaking win runner-up Simon Owen took the first prize money as Chen was still an amateur.
Hsu Chi-san is a Taiwanese professional golfer. During his career he won many tournaments in the Asia-Pacific region, including the Philippine, Taiwan and Singapore national opens on the Asia Golf Circuit.
Hsieh Yu-shu is a Taiwanese professional golfer. Though he only won two prominent events, the 1988 Indonesia Open and the 1993 Mercuries Taiwan Masters, he was a consistent contender on the Asia Golf Circuit and Asian PGA Tour in the 1980s and 1990s. He recorded dozens of top-10s and at least a six second-place finishes between the circuits.
Hsieh Chin-sheng is a Taiwanese professional golfer. He won twice on the 1988 Asia Golf Circuit, the Hong Kong Open and the Philippine Open.
Robert James Stanton is a retired professional golfer from Australia. He had considerable success in the late 1960s, winning a number of tournaments in Australia and playing on the PGA Tour. As a 20-year-old, he won the 1966 Dunlop International, beating Arnold Palmer in a sudden-death playoff. He never won on the PGA Tour but was runner-up twice, in the 1969 AVCO Golf Classic and the 1970 Florida Citrus Invitational. He had a brief return of form in 1974/1975 and again for a few years from 1982.
Martin Roesink is a Dutch professional golfer. In the mid-1960s he had much success in Australasian region, posting several high finishes culminating with a win at the 1967 New Zealand Wills Masters. The following year he tried out for the PGA Tour and was successful, performing as medallist at the fall Q-School. He played on the PGA Tour for five seasons, recording a number of top tens, including a runner-up finish in 1970. Since then, he has worked primarily as a club professional and golf manager in the American state of Ohio.
