Club Alianza Atlético de Sullana, shorted to Alianza Atlético, is a Peruvian football club, located in the city of Sullana, Piura. The club was founded in 1920 and promoted to the Peruvian Primera División, where they currently participate, in 1988 and again in 2015. Alianza Atlético has a long-standing rivalry with Atlético Grau and Atlético Torino, other clubs in the Piura Department. José Carlos Carrasco Távara was a Peruvian lawyer and politician and a former Congressman representing the Piura region for the 2001–2006 term, and the 2006–2011 term. He was the Minister of Energy and Mines during the First Presidency of Alan Garcia and was also a Deputy, representing the Piura region from 1980 to 1992, when President Alberto Fujimori shut the whole Congress down in a self-coup.
