Suman Pawan Bodani is a Pakistani judge. She and Diana Kumari are the first Hindu women to become judges in Pakistan. [1] She is currently serving in her native district Qambar Shahdadkot. [2] [3] [4]

Career

Suman Kumari earned her master's degree in Law from the Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Institute of Science and Technology University. She then worked for advocate Rasheed A. Razvi’s firm. In 2019, she passed the examination for induction of judicial officers and was appointed as a civil judge. [3]

Personal life

Bodani lives in Qambar Shahdadkot District. Her father Dr. Pawan Kumar Bodani is an eye specialist. Her elder sister is a software engineer and another sister is a chartered accountant. Bodani is a fan of singers Lata Mangeshkar and Atif Aslam. [3]

He remained the acting CJP during the 2007 judicial crisis in Pakistan, and also briefly became the acting Chief Justice of Pakistan when the incumbent Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry went on foreign tours in 2005 and 2006, and thus became the first Hindu and the second non-Muslim to serve as chief of the highest court in Pakistan. Rana Bhagwandas also worked as the Chairman of Federal Public Service Commission of Pakistan. He headed the interview panel for the selection of the federal civil servants in 2009.

Shahdadkot is the most populated and largest Tehsil of Qambar Shahdadkot District of Sindh, Pakistan. It was named after the town founder Shahdad Khan Khuhawar. It is located around 51 kilometres northwest of Larkana and 34 kilometers north of Qambar. The town is in close proximity to three districts of Balochistan namely Khuzdar, Jhal Magsi and Jaffarabad in the west and north of the district. It is linked on the M8 motorway route between Gwadar and Ratodero.
