Since 2014, it has been played at Big Cedar Lodge in Ridgedale on the par-3 Top of the Rock course, designed by Jack Nicklaus and the 18-hole Buffalo Ridge course, redesigned by Tom Fazio. The tournament is sponsored by Bass Pro Shops, which owns the Big Cedar Lodge. It is often called "The tournament that launched the Champions Tour". Starting in 2018, a second Par-3 course, Mountain Top, a 13-hole course designed by Gary Player, will be added to the tournament, which has the oddity of being a 67-hole tournament.

In 1968 he won the Harry Vardon Trophy for leading the Order of Merit. He played in the Ryder Cup six times and was a non-playing captain. He also won 10 times on the European Seniors Tour between 1992 and 2000.

The Piccadilly Medal was a men's professional golf tournament. It was played in 1962 and from 1964 to 1976 and was a European Tour event from 1972 to 1976. It was played in a variety of formats. From 1962 to 1967 it was a 72-hole stroke-play event, in 1968 it was a four-ball better-ball match play event, from 1969 to 1975 it was a knockout stroke-play event while in 1976 it reverted to the 72-hole stroke-play format. From 1964 to 1968 the event was played on the East course at Wentworth, just before the Piccadilly World Match Play Championship which was played on the West Course there. Carreras withdrew their golf sponsorship after the 1976 season.

It was played at Pannal in 1969 and 1970 and then at Blairgowrie in 1972 and 1973. From 1974 it was called the Sumrie-Bournemouth Better-Ball and was played at Queen's Park Golf Club, Bournemouth, England. The tournament was sponsored by Sumrie Clothes who has previously supported the Sumrie Tournament in 1968.
