As of 2017, he has won six National Film Awards, four Filmfare Awards South, six Tamil Nadu State Film Awards and a Nandi Award. He has also directed films in Telugu and Hindi. The Government of India honoured him with the Padma Shri award, India's fourth-highest civilian honour, in 2004 for his contribution to the film industry. In 2005, he was conferred with the Doctor of Letters from Sathyabama University.

Samuthirakani is an Indian actor and film director who works predominantly in Tamil and Telugu films besides few Malayalam films. He worked as an assistant to director K. Balachander, in Paarthale Paravasam. He won the National Film Award for Best Supporting Actor in 2016 for Visaranai, he is also an recipient of three Tamil Nadu State Film Awards, a Filmfare Award and a SIIMA award

K. Kannan popularly known as Vedham Pudhithu Kannan, is an Indian film/stage director, writer and producer who primarily works in Tamil cinema. At various stages of his career, Kannan had the privilege to be mentored by veteran directors Bharathiraja, S.P.Muthuraman and K. Balachander. Kannan is known for his penchant for embedding social reform messages in his stories, and as of 2016 he had won Kalaimamani, Tamil Nadu State Film Award for Best Dialogue Writer, Mylapore academy award for lifetime achievement among others.
Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa is a 2016 Tamil musical short drama starring Vikraman Radhakrishnan, Madhumila, Uma Padmanabhan and Uma Riyaz Khan. The show premiered on 3 October 2016 and aired on Mondays to Saturday at 7:30PM (IST) on Star Vijay, starting from 31 October 2016, the show shifted to aired at 10:00PM (IST) and ended with 29 episodes. It was Produced by Tamil Film actor R. Sarathkumar and director by Sundar K. Vijayan.
Revathi is a 1986 Indian Tamil-language film directed by Sundar K. Vijayan in his debut. The film stars Suresh and Revathi, with Anand Babu, Jaishankar, Sarath Babu, Thengai Srinivasan, Sujatha and Varalakshmi in supporting roles. It was released on 30 May 1986.
