Annamayya is a 1997 Indian Telugu-language-language biographical film directed by K. Raghavendra Rao and produced by V. Doraswamy Raju under the VMC Productions banner. The film portrays the life of the 15th century composer Annamacharya, played by Nagarjuna who features alongside an ensemble cast including Mohan Babu, Suman, Ramya Krishna, Bhanupriya, Roja, and Kasthuri. The film has score and soundtrack composed by M. M. Keeravani.
Manayangath Subramanian Viswanathan, also known as M.S.V., was an Indian music director, singer and actor who predominantly worked in Tamil film industry. Popularly known by the sobriquet Mellisai Mannar, he composed songs for more than 800 Indian films and various albums across languages primarily in Tamil, Malayalam and Telugu films. He has also acted and sung in a few Tamil films. The Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu J Jayalalithaa conferred the Thirai Isai Chakravarthy title on him in August 2012 and presented him with 60 gold coins and a new car.

The Kingdom of Mysore (1399–1950) was founded by Yaduraya in 1399 as a feudatory of the Vijayanagara Empire and became an independent kingdom in the early 17th century, after the decline of the Vijayanagara Empire. Many musicians and composers have presumably adorned the courts of the Mysore kings from Yaduraya's time, furthering the Dakshinadi school of music that had developed in earlier centuries. However, records are only available from the time of King Ranadheera Kanteerava Narasaraja Wodeyar (1638). Musical treatises surviving from this time, though, provide ample information on the music, musical instruments, the types of compositions, the raga (melodies) and the tala (rhythms) used. Though all the Mysore kings patronised music, the golden age of Carnatic music was considered to be during the reigns of Kings Krishnaraja Wodeyar III (1794–1868), Chamaraja Wodeyar IX (1862–1894), Krishnaraja Wodeyar IV (1884–1940) and Jaya Chamaraja Wodeyar (1919–1974). The reign of Krishnaraja Wodeyar IV is regarded as particularly important in musical terms.

Raju Bhai is a 2007 Indian Telugu-language drama film directed by Surya Kiran, starring Manoj Manchu and Sheela Kaur, with Dhandapani, Tanikella Bharani and Brahmanandam in supporting roles. The film, a remake of the successful 2006 Tamil film Chithiram Pesuthadi, directed by Myshkin was produced by Manoj's father, Mohan Babu, and was released on 18 May 2007 and was critically and commercially universally unsuccessful.

Nagaram Marupakkam also known simply as Nagaram is a 2010 Indian Tamil-language action comedy film co-produced written and directed by Sundar C., who himself plays the lead role. Co-produced by his wife Khushbu, the film also stars Anuya Bhagvath and Vadivelu in pivotal roles and features music by Thaman. Sundar's first directorial after four years, Nagaram released on 19 November 2010, it is based on the 1993 American film Carlito's Way. The film is very well known for comedy sequences and portrayal of the comic character "Style Pandi" by Vadivelu.

Ashok, produced by Manyam Ramesh under Manyam Entertainments banner and starring Allari Naresh, Sivaji, Rajiv Kanakala, Meera Jasmine and Gowri Pandit in the lead roles. The film's soundtrack was composed by Chakri and Cinematography was handled by Sai Sriram. Dialogues for the film were written by Chandrashekar Gundimeda while Screenplay was handled also by G. Ashok. This was G. Ashok's second film as director. It marked the debut for editor Prawin Pudi. The film was released on 12 March 2010.

The film was produced by the independent Indian production house Camphor Cinema, ventured by Srivatsan Nadathur, Sushant Desai, Sharanyan Nadathur, Sindhu Rajasekaran. The cast consists of Indian and British film, stage and screen personalities. It marks the Tamil debut of Abhinay Vaddi, the grandson of veteran Tamil film actors Gemini Ganesan and Savitri, as the protagonist.

Bhubaneswar Mishra was an Indian music director, a noted composer of Odissi music and a classical violin player. Born in Paralakhemundi, Mishra was exposed to and developed an inclination towards classical Odissi music at a very young age. Later, he acquired training and proficiency in Odissi, Hindustani and Carnatic styles of playing the violin. In All India Radio Cuttack, he came under the influence of Singhari Shyamsundar Kar, Kashinath Pujapanda, Balakrushna Dash and others. He teamed up with Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia to score music for Hindi and Odia films.
