Sundarnath Suvarna was an Indian cinematographer of the Kannada Film industry from the late 1970s. He was a c cinematographer for over 150 Kannada films and he also produced and directed some films. His daughters run a studio in memory of their father. The first daughter Amruthavarshini manages the place. The second daughter Akshata is the HR and the third daughter Sathyashree [1]

Career

Suvarna worked as a cinematographer on Sri Manjunatha, Mussanjemathu, Operation Antha, Anuraaga Sangama and Lockup Death as well as other films. He was also famous for his work in the record breaking film Bangar Patler of the coastal cinema industry. He was a renowned artist who successfully portrayed Tulu culture in his films. He had also worked with Kannada Jnanpith award winner novelist Shivaram Karanth in the Tulu film September 8 Awards. The State Government has also honoured him with Rajyothsava Award.

Banger Patler is 1993 Tulu Language film. It was produced and directed by Dr. Richard Castelino, and shot by cinematographer Sundarnath Suvarna. The musical score is by Ragdev. The film stars Vaman Raj in the title role, with supporting roles by Sudha Rani, Kasargod Chinna, Sarojini Shetty, Sundeep Malani, Rohidas Kadri and others. It was shot in and around Mangalore. The film ran for 105 days in Jyothi Talkies, Mangalore. It was the first Tulu cinema which won national award.

Arun Sagar is an Indian actor, art director and comedian who mainly works in the Kannada film industry. He has been recognized as a leading art director throughout his career starting from his first movie, Bhoomi Geetha which won the national award for best environmental film. He has worked with veteran directors like Poori Jagannath, Meher Ramesh, Veerashankar and K Raghavendra Rao. He has received Karnataka state award for best art direction for his contributions in the movie Sri Manjunatha. He ran a show on Kasturi TV called 'Tarrle' that resembled a popular show M.A.D. from Pogo TV that taught children about art, painting and crafting. He became popular during the telecast of Maja with Sruja that aired on Asianet Suvarna where he played various comical roles that parodied celebrities and politicians. The show was a huge hit for its satire-comedy structure. Arun Sagar was later hired as the first contestant of Bigg Boss Kannada Season 1, where he emerged as the runner-up for the season. He later reprised the comedy genre with a new show, Comedy Circle that was aired on ETV Kannada. The show was successful, however for unknown reasons, he opted out of the show after few episodes. He also hosted a one-man-show on the same genre known as Koyyam Kotra on TV9 (Kannada).

Umesh Mijar is an Indian film actor, form Tulu Film Industries also known as Coastalwood popular among the regional audience for his work in movies like Daniklena, Joklu (2015), Pavithra – Beedida Ponnu (2016), Ashem Zalem Kashem (2017), and Appe Teacher (2018). He has worked in more than 22 films in Coastalwood. Mostly known for his comedy roles. Umesh Mijar is a popular Actor.
