The Super League of Belize was a football organization established in 2006 to manage Belizean football. It had no affiliation with the national federation, the Football Federation of Belize. The league disbanded in 2011 after the merger with the Belize Premier Football League to create a new top league in Belize, the Premier League of Belize. [1]

History

The Super League got its start in 2005 managing games between Belizean office organizations, called "inter-office". In 2006 the league expanded to include City first division amateurs and Masters' over-35 competitions. Its most recent addition was a league of semipro teams, some formerly affiliated with the Belize Premier Football League, which began play in October 2007.

The League has announced plans for a female and B-division league.

The President of the Super League is Michael Blease. The SLB's commissioner is former referee and commentator for the BPFL, Ruperto Vicente.

Belize Defence Force FC

Belize Defence Force Football Club is a Belizean football team based in Belize City which currently competes in the Premier League of Belize of the Football Federation of Belize. It is sponsored by the country's national army of the same name. The Belize Defence Force F.C have won the Belize Premier Football League National Championship three times; the 2009–2010 Opening season, the 2009–10 Closing season, and the 2010–11 Opening season.

The 2008 season of the Super League of Belize began on October 21, 2007 and will conclude in early 2008. This is its first semiprofessional season, with nine teams.

The 2012–13 Premier League of Belize is the second season of the highest competitive football league in Belize, after it was founded in 2011. There are two seasons which are spread over two years, the opening and the closing.

Altitude FC is a Belizean Football Club based in Independence, Belize.
