Superstar is a 2021 Nollywood film released on 29 December 2021 by Inkblot Productions. [1] The film stars an ensemble cast including Nancy Isime, Deyemi Okanlawon, Timini Egbuson, Daniel Etim Effiong, and Eku Edewor. [2] Superstar was jointly produced by Inkblot Productions and FilmOne Studios, marking the ninth collaboration between the two studios. [3]

Plot

An up-and-coming actress named Queen played by Nancy Isime experiences a rise to stardom and success as she faces the different challenges of life on her way to stardom. She is faced with different challenges and also faced with an occurrence from her past, her unyielding ex-boyfriend, her new life, and stardom itself. Life just became a crossroad for Queen. The movie is an intriguing romance movie that exemplifies the growth and adventure of an upcoming actress in Nollywood and the various challenges on the road to Stardom as experienced by Queen. Superstar was jointly written by Akhigbe Ilozobhie, Uyoyou Adia and Chinaza Onuzo, and it was directed by Akhigbe Ilozobhie. The movie was released in December 2021, in turn, to also mark the 10th anniversary of Inkblot Production.

Award and nomination

In the 8th edition of Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards (AMVCA), Nancy Isime who played Queen in the movie was nominated under the category "Best Actress in a Drama" for her role but she lost to Osas Ighodaro. [7]

Omo Ghetto: The Saga also known as Omo Ghetto 2 is a 2020 Nigerian gangster comedy film co-directed by Funke Akindele and JJC Skillz. The film stars Funke Akindele, Chioma Akpota, Nancy Isime, Eniola Badmus, Bimbo Thomas, Deyemi Okanlawon and Mercy Aigbe in the lead roles. This was the second film in the Omo Ghetto franchise and it was also the sequel to the 2010 trilogy film Omo Ghetto. The film had its theatrical release coinciding with Christmas on 25 December 2020 and was opened to extremely positive reviews from critics. The film became a box office success and surpassed Fate of Alakada as the highest grossing Nigerian film for the year 2020. The Smart Money Woman is a Nigerian TV series based on a 2016 novel of the same name by Arese Ugwu. The series premiered on Africa Magic Showcase in September 2020. The series was filmed to exclusively dramatise the novel. Blood Sisters is a Nigerian thriller television series. The series, which has been described as the first Nigerian Netflix Original series, stars Ini Dima-Okojie and Nancy Isime in the lead, with Ramsey Nouah, Kate Henshaw, Wale Ojo, Kehinde Bankole, Deyemi Okanlawon, Gabriel Afolayan, Tope Tedela among other cast members. The four-part series was released on 5 May 2022 on Netflix.The release was a collaboration of Netflix and Mo Abudu through her media company, Ebonylife TV. Blood Sisters was directed by Biyi Bandele and Kenneth Gyang.

The Set Up 2 is a 2022 Nigerian crime thriller film, a sequel to The Set Up released in 2019. The Nollywood sequel was jointly produced by Inkblot Productions, Film One Entertainment and Anakle Studios. The film was directed by Naz Onuzo instead of Niyi Akinmolayan, who directed the first part. The film stars Adesua Etomi, Kehinde Bankole, Nancy Isime, Jim Iyke, Tina Mba, Uzor Arukwe, Kate Henshaw, Blossom Chukwujekwu, Stan Nze, Lota Chukwu and a host of others. The film was released in Nigeria on 12 August 2022.

Far From Home is a drama television series and the first Nigerian series on Netflix. The series, written by Dami Elebe and produced by Inkblot productions premiered on Netflix on December 16, 2022. The five-part series stars Mike Afolarin, Richard Mofe-Damijo, Bimbo Akintola, Carol King, Adesua Etomi, Funke Akindele, Bolanle Ninalowo, Genoveva Umeh, Natse Jemide and a host of others.

Big Love is a 2023 Nigerian romantic family drama written and directed by Biodun Stephen and marks the first collaboration between Biodun Stephen and Inkblot Productions. Released in cinemas nationwide on 28 June 2023 and starring Bimbo Ademoye, Timini Egbuson, Teniola Aladese, Jaiye Kuti, Shaffy Bello and others. The film was shot in Lagos State and depicts the modern-day Lagos life.

<i>She Must Be Obeyed</i> 2023 5-part limited series

She Must Be Obeyed is a comedy miniseries that premiered on September 29, 2023. The five-part series features Funke Akindele, Nancy Isime, Lateef Adedimeji, Akah Nnani, Patience Ozokwor, Mike Ezuronye, Ex BBNaija star, Veeiye, Waje and other Nollywood stars. The mini-series was produced and directed by Funke Akindele and her estranged husband JJC Skillz under the Scene One Productions.
