Founded on 6 February 1945, Robinhood is the most successful club in Surinamese football, having won a record 24 league titles, and a record of five Beker van Surinames and President's Cups apiece. The club was the first Surinamese club to make the final of a North American tournament, reaching the 1972 CONCACAF Champions' Cup final. Though making five CONCACAF club championship finals in their history, Robinhood has never won a continental title.

Named after the English football club Arsenal, the club was founded on 6 February 1921, and won the National championship twice, in the 1938–39 and the 1939–40 season.
Roy Vanenburg is a Surinamese football manager and former player, who was last manager of Hoofdklasse club S.V. Transvaal. He spent most of his professional playing career with S.V. Transvaal, winning six Hoofdklasse titles, and two CONCACAF Champions Cups, finishing as the league top scorer in both 1968 and in 1971. He had previously played for H.V.V. and S.V. Robinhood before joining Transvaal in 1967.

Gilmar Jones is a Surinamese badminton player and national coach of the Surinamese badminton team. In 2015 and 2017, he became the champion in men's doubles event at the Surinamese National Badminton Championships. He is the current National mixed doubles champion of Suriname. He first won the mixed doubles title in 2017 with Priscille Tjitrodipo, and retained the National Surinamese title the following two years with different partners in 2018 with Rugshaar Ishaak and in 2019 with Anjali Paragsingh. His biggest international achievement to date is winning the Caribbean title in Men's Doubles with Dylan Darmohoetomo in 2016 at the Carebaco International in Aruba. Together with doubles partner Dylan Darmohoetomo he also reached the finals of the Carebaco International in 2018 held in his home town Paramaribo. Beginning of 2018 Gilmar Jones was appointed the head-coach of the National badminton team of Suriname.
Crystal Leefmans is a Surinamese badminton player. In 2010, she won the bronze medals at the Medellín South American Games in the mixed doubles and team event. In 2011, she won the mixed doubles title at the Carebaco International tournament in the individuals event of the Carebaco Games partnered with Mitchel Wongsodikromo. Leefmans was also the champion at the Suriname International tournament in 2012 and 2013. In 2018 she won the mixed doubles Carebaco International title again at home, this time partnering compatriot Dylan Darmohoetomo. She was the flagbearer for Suriname at the 2011 Pan Am Games.
Surinamese National Junior Badminton Championships is a yearly organized event by the Surinaamse Badminton Bond (SBB) the governing body for the sport of badminton in Suriname, to crown the best National badminton junior players in Suriname. It was locally called the "Open Jeugdkampioenschappen van Suriname".
