Susan Tanner is an Australian diplomat who held several overseas postings, including Ambassador to Chile from 1997 to 1999 [1] and Ambassador to Spain from 2003 to 2006. [2] [3]
Tanner made headlines in 2004 when she was summoned to Madrid by the Spanish government which was protesting against critical comments made by Australian Foreign Minister Alexander Downer following Spain's military withdrawal from Iraq. [4] [5] [6] [7]
Tanner graduated from Flinders University with a Bachelor of Arts in European Languages. [2]
She was succeeded as Australia's ambassador to Chile by John Campbell in 1999. [8]

The Australian High Commissioner to Trinidad and Tobago is an officer of the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and the head of the High Commission of the Commonwealth of Australia in the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago. The position has the rank and status of an Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary and the high commissioner resides in Port of Spain. The high commissioner, since October 2019, is Bruce Lendon.
