The Russia women's national handball team is the national team of the Russian Federation. It is governed by the Handball Union of Russia and takes part in international handball competitions.
Talant Mushanbetovich Dujshebaev is a former handball player, and current coach, who serves as the head coach for Vive Kielce. Dujshebaev is considered by many to be one of the greatest handball coaches of his generation. Tonje Larsen is a retired Norwegian handballer who played for the Norwegian national team. She is Olympic champion, World champion and three times European champion. As a club player she is several times Norwegian champion and once Danish champion, and has won the EHF Cup, EHF Cup Winners' Cup and the EHF Champions League.
The South Korea women's national handball team is the national team of South Korea. Since 1984 the Korean team has not only participated constantly in Olympic Games but also ranked among the top four nations every time until 2012. Korea grabbed the gold medal in 1988 and 1992, won the silver medal in 1984, 1996, 2004 and took bronze medal in 2008. They have earned two World Championship medals so far: In 1995, they also won the World Championship title in Austria/Hungary 1995 World Women's Handball Championship, they came off third to secure the bronze medal at the Croatia in 2003 World Women's Handball Championship. It is a twelve time Asian Champion, the tournament has been won by any other nation only twice.
Mats Åke Olsson is a Swedish retired handball goalkeeper, who is currently goalkeeping coach for Norway women's national handball team and Elverum Håndball. He was born in Malmö.
Alain Portes is a French handball player and coach, who competed in the 1992 Summer Olympics. He have formerly coached the Tunisian national team, France women's national team and Algerian national team.
Karen Fladset is a Norwegian former team handball player and coach. She played for the club IL Vestar and the Norway women's national handball team. With Vestar she became Norwegian Champion both as player and coach, and she was top scorer in the Norwegian league for four seasons. After her playing career she was head coach for the national team for two years, and later coach for various clubs. She was a Norway champion in discus throw three times.
Nenad Kljaić is a Croatian former handball player and current coach of Greek club Serbia.
Þórir Hergeirsson is an Icelandic handball coach and former player. He is currently the head coach of the Norwegian women's national team.
The IHF Women's Handball World Championship has been organized by the International Handball Federation since 1957. European teams have won every time except 1995 where South Korea won as the first team outside Europe and 2013 where Brazil won as the first American team. The biggest winners are Russia and Norway with four titles each.
