Swanee River is a blues rock band from Northern Ireland. Swanee River was formed in 2004. Their musical style is a mixture of rock, soul, funk and metal. [1]

History

To date Swanee River has released three EPs and completed countless gigs and tours throughout Ireland and the United Kingdom.

In 2008, they supported Irish rock bands such as Taste on a string of dates. In 2009 they were asked back to support Taste on a Northern Irish tour. In 2009 they also supported UFO in Belfast, a UK support tour with The Answer and served as main support to the Answer again on their homecoming gig in The Ulster Hall to a sold out audience of 1700 people.

From 2009 onwards, the band frequently featured in such publications as Classic Rock magazine (UK and US) where they had songs featured on the free cover mount CD of 75,000 copies and the US cover mount CD which sells in the region of 40,000 copies each month. They were also featured in Hotpress (also included on the cover mount CD), Derry Journal, Dublin Evening Herald, Mid Ulster Mail, and Alternative Ulster.

In radio and television the band have been featured on such broadcasts as BBC ATL TV, BBC Radio 1 Introducing, [2] Electric Mainline (BBC), The Mark Patterson Show (BBC), Drive 105, Balcony TV, Maiden City FM, Rte Radio 2 and Downtown radio.

In 2010, Swanee River has been mainly writing and recording their debut album which is due for release in early 2011, however the band still managed to squeeze in a string of headline shows around the country and played a total of eight festivals from the summer onwards including Glasgowbury, Sunflowerfest, Macfest, Pigstock, Gasyard Feila ‘wan big weekend’, August Mini Mayhem (Belfast, Swanee headline), Beers for Speirs (Kelly’s Portrush) and Winterfest, Ahoghil.

2011 has seen Swanee River release their debut album, Smoking Jacket, write and record the sound track for Irish Film Board film The Birth of Rock, secure a headline slot for the biggest Indian college rock festival ‘Synchronicity’ in October at IIT KANPUR, featured in local and national press and publications, secure main support slot on seven dates across Ireland with The Answer and eight Northern Ireland festival appearances, including a couple as headliners.

The Ulster Hall is a concert hall and grade A listed building in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Situated on Bedford Street in Belfast city centre, the hall hosts concerts, classical recitals, craft fairs and political party conferences.

Kids in Glass Houses

Kids in Glass Houses were a Welsh rock band from Cardiff. The band's name was inspired by the lyrics "not throwing stones at you anymore" from the Glassjaw song "Tip Your Bartender". The band achieved success on the strength of the singles "Give Me What I Want" and "Saturday" off their debut album Smart Casual in 2008. The band released their second album Dirt in early 2010, releasing four singles, most notably "Matters at All". The band's third album, In Gold Blood, was released on 15 August 2011. Their fourth album, Peace, was released on 30 September 2013.

Catoan

catoan was a Northern Irish progressive folk rock band, formed in Belfast in 2006 by singer, songwriter, and guitarist Paddy McKeown. The other band members were violinist Rúaidhrí Mannion, electric guitarist John Ferris, bassist Cavan Fyans and drummer Rob Baker. The band were frequently accompanied by saxophonist, Iain McDougall. The band name was conjured up by Rúaidhrí Mannion and allegedly came from an acronym of sorts although some mystery still surrounds its origin. catoan announced that the band had split in early 2008 due to "various circumstances".

The Courteeners English band

The Courteeners are an English band formed in Middleton in 2006 by Liam Fray, Michael Campbell, Daniel "Conan" Moores and Mark Cuppello (bass); the latter was replaced by the band's producer Joe Cross in 2015. They previously toured with pianist Adam Payne, who has been featured on every album, but in 2019 was replaced with Elina Lin. In December 2012, the band dropped "The" from their name, continuing simply as "Courteeners".

LaFaro were a four-piece alternative rock band from Belfast, Northern Ireland. They consisted of Jonny Black (guitar/vocals), Dave Magee (guitar), Herb Magee (Bass) and Alan Lynn (drums).

Twin Atlantic Scottish band

Twin Atlantic are a Scottish alternative rock band from Glasgow, Scotland. The group currently consists of Sam McTrusty, Ross McNae (bass) and Craig Kneale (drums). Lead guitarist Barry McKenna departed from the band in 2019, but continues to perform with the band at their live shows. They have released five albums: Vivarium, Free, Great Divide, GLA and Power. Their highest charting single is "Heart and Soul" from Great Divide, which peaked at number 17 on the UK Singles Chart. On 2 June 2016, Annie Mac premiered "No Sleep" as the Hottest Record in the World on BBC Radio 1 and announced their new album GLA, subsequently released on 9 September 2016.

The Dead 60s

The Dead 60s were an English ska punk band from Liverpool. The band's sound is a mixture of punk rock, ska, dub and reggae. They have taken influences from artists such as King Tubby, Jackie Mittoo, Gang of Four and A Certain Ratio.

Pocket Billiards are a Belfast-based 9-Piece Ska / Punk / Rock band who originally formed in 2001. The band fuse ska, reggae and dub with punk rock and heavy riffs, creating an energetic and powerful sound.

Window Seats

Window Seats are a three-piece alternative rock band from Belfast, Northern Ireland. They are the first unsigned Northern Ireland artists to be featured on MTV Rocks. The band has self-produced seven music videos, single single releases and an EP under its own record label, Get Out Records. The band was formed in 2007 and currently consists of members Jude McCaffrey, Elliot Russell (bass and Tony Furnell.

<i>Unfaithfully Yours</i> (album) 2012 studio album by General Fiasco

Unfaithfully Yours is the last studio album by Northern Irish indie rock band General Fiasco. Recorded at Start Together Studios in Belfast, Northern Ireland with producer Rocky O'Reilly, the album was released on 30 July 2012, on independent label Dirty Hit. It was the first album to feature guitar/keyboard player Stuart Bell and the first to be released through Dirty Hit Records.
