The Swedish Crime Writers' Academy (Swedish: Svenska Deckarakademin), is a Swedish organization set up in 1971 to promote the writing of detective fiction and crime fiction. [1] Originally, the academy had 13 elected members; today the number of members is 24.

The Crime Writers' Association (CWA) is a specialist authors’ group in the United Kingdom, most notable for its Gold Dagger award for the best crime novel of the year. The Association also promotes the crime fiction genre by publicising literary festivals and other writing events, establishing links with libraries, booksellers and other writer organisations, both in the UK such as the Society of Authors, and overseas, and enabling members to network at its annual conference and through its regional chapters as well as through dedicated social media channels and private website. Åsa Larsson Swedish writer

Åsa Larsson is a Swedish crime-fiction writer. Although born in Uppsala, she was raised in Kiruna in the far north. Prior to becoming a full-time writer, Larsson was a tax lawyer, a profession she shares with the heroine of her novels, Rebecka Martinsson. Her first Rebecka Martinsson novel, Solstorm, was awarded the Swedish Crime Writers' Association prize for best first novel. It was published in the UK and was shortlisted for the Duncan Lawrie International Dagger. Her second Rebecka Martinsson novel, Det blod som spillts, won the Best Swedish Crime Novel Award. Till offer åt Molok, her fifth Rebecka Martinsson novel also won the Best Swedish Crime Novel Award. The 2007 Swedish film Solstorm was based on the book The Savage Altar.

Kjell Eriksson Swedish writer

Karl StigKjell Eriksson is a Swedish writer, author of the detective chief inspector Ann Lindell crime novels. Den upplysta stigen, the first of the Lindell series, was named Best First Novel of 1999 by the Swedish Crime Academy. Prinsessan av Burundi, fourth in the series, was awarded the Swedish Crime Writers' Academy Best Swedish Crime Novel Award in 2002. Öppen grav, published in 2009, was the tenth and final novel in the series. Currently only six Lindell novels are available in English, though St. Martin's Press has the rights to the whole series.

Roslund & Hellström is a Swedish crime writing duo composed of journalist Anders Roslund and Börge Hellström (1957–2017), a famous debater on the Swedish correctional system. Since 2004 full time writers. Until then, Roslund for fifteen years worked as a news reporter, head of Culture News and head of news for Rapport News, Aktuellt and Kulturnyheterna. Hellström is an ex-con and one of the founders of Kriminellas Revansch i Samhället (KRIS), an organisation fighting to prevent crime.

Dror Mishani is an Israeli crime writer, translator and literary scholar, specializing in the history of detective fiction. His series of crime fiction, featuring police inspector Avraham Avraham, was first published in Hebrew in 2011 and is translated to over 15 languages, including English, Swedish and German.

Jenny Elisabet Berthelius was a Swedish crime novelist and children's writer, who wrote 24 crime novels, as well as 28 children's books.
