Sweta Singh is an Indian journalist and news presenter. [2] She is a news anchor and Senior Executive Editor of Special Programming at Aaj Tak.

Career

Singh started her career while still in first year of graduate studies in Patna University. She has several bylines to her name in The Times of India Patna edition and Hindustan Times Patna edition, before she switched to electronic media in 1998. She worked for Zee News and Sahara, before joining Aaj Tak in 2002. [3] She is known for her expertise in covering sports-related news. Her show Sourav ka Sixer won the award for best sports programme by Sports Journalism Federation of India (SJFI) in 2005. [4] She has also made appearances in some films, like Chak De! India, Chakravyuh and Jhund as an Aaj Tak news presenter. Singh also did the show History of Patliputra during 2015 Bihar Legislative Assembly election.

In 2016, following the announcement of demonetisation of Indian banknotes by the NDA government, she inaccurately claimed that the newly introduced Indian 2000-rupee note would include sophisticated nanochips. [5]

Personal life

Singh comes from an army background and is the eldest of five siblings. She is unmarried. [6]

He joined Ananda Bazar Patrika in January 1983 as a trainee journalist with The Telegraph (Kolkata). From February 2017 to March 2022, Bhattacharya was the joint editor of the Bengali-language daily Sangbad Pratidin. From April 2022, for a brief period of 7 months, Bhattacharya was the editor of Zee 24 Ghanta, one of eastern India's most renowned TV channels. Since early 2023 he is working as the Joint Editor of Kolkata TV ,a distinguished News Television channel of the state of West Bengal.

Purvanchal Expressway is a 340.8 km long, 6-lane wide access-controlled expressway in the state of Uttar Pradesh, India. The expressway connects Chand Saray village near Gosainganj in Lucknow district with Haydaria village on NH-31 in Ghazipur district. It is developed by the Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA). The Purvanchal Expressway has a 3.2 km long airstrip at Akhalkiri Karwat village near Kurebhar in Sultanpur district for emergency landing of aircraft. The construction work was started by the UPEIDA on 10 October 2018 and was inaugurated and opened to the public on 16 November 2021.
