The Swiss 2. Liga is the fifth-level ice hockey league in Switzerland. It lies below the National League, the Swiss League, the MySports League and the Swiss 1. Liga.

Setup

The league is divided into three divisions, Ostschweiz (East Switzerland), Zentralschweiz (Central Switzerland), and Suisse Romande. The top teams are promoted to the Swiss 1. Liga and the bottom teams are relegated to the Swiss 3. Liga. The 2. Liga is part of the Regio League, which also consists of the 1. Liga, the 3. Liga and the 4. Liga.

Ice Hockey World Championships Recurring international ice hockey tournament for mens national teams

The Ice Hockey World Championships are an annual international men's ice hockey tournament organized by the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF). First officially held at the 1920 Summer Olympics, it is the sport's highest profile annual international tournament. The IIHF was created in 1908 while the European Championships, the precursor to the World Championships, were first held in 1910. The tournament held at the 1920 Summer Olympics is recognized as the first Ice Hockey World Championship. From 1920 to 1968, the Olympic hockey tournament was also considered the World Championship for that year.

The Swiss Ice Hockey Federation (SIHF) is the governing body of ice hockey in Switzerland, as recognized by the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF). Deutsche Eishockey Liga

The Deutsche Eishockey Liga or DEL, is a German professional ice hockey league. Founded in 1994, it was formed as a replacement for the Eishockey-Bundesliga and became the new top-tier league in Germany as a result. Unlike the old Bundesliga, the DEL is not under the administration of the German Ice Hockey Federation.

Tipos extraliga

The Slovak Tipos Extraliga is the highest-level ice hockey league in Slovakia. Since the 2018–19 season, the league also includes two teams from Hungary. In 2009, it was ranked by the IIHF as the fifth strongest league in Europe and in 2012, it was ranked by The Hockey News as the sixth-strongest league in the world behind the NHL, KHL, Swedish Hockey League, SM-liiga and Czech Extraliga. However, it has dropped significantly since then, with the American Hockey League, Swiss National League, German DEL and Austrian EBEL, among others, all now ranked ahead.

Swiss League

The Swiss League is the second tier of the main professional ice hockey league in Switzerland, behind the National League. The winners of this league each season play a best-of-seven series against the bottom team of the NL and, if they win, they are promoted, while the National League team is relegated to the Swiss League.

The National Ice Hockey League is the top men's ice hockey league in Spain. Its governing body is the Real Federación Española de Deportes de Hielo.

Champions Hockey League (2008–09)

The Champions Hockey League was a short-lived ice hockey tournament which was launched in 2008 by the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) after adopting the proposal put forth by Ovation Sports AG, and only played in the 2008–09 season. Its creation coincided with the IIHF's 100th anniversary and replaced the IIHF European Champions Cup, the previous competition for Europe's top ice hockey teams. The financial reward for progressing to the CHL Group Stage was a portion of the 16.9 million Swiss francs that was distributed between the teams with a 1,000,000 Swiss francs bonus going to the winner; the largest monetary reward ever given in any European ice hockey competition.

Kirill Olegovich Starkov is a Russian-born Danish professional ice hockey forward who is currently playing for HC Château-d'Oex in the Swiss 2. Liga, the fifth tier of the Swiss hockey system.

Spanish Ice Sports Federation governing body of ice sports in Spain

The Royal Spanish Ice Sports Federation (Spanish: Real Federación Española de Deportes de Hielo is the administrative body for ice sports in Spain. It is a member of the Spanish Olympic Committee and, in partnership with the Royal Spanish Winter Sports Federation, represents Spain in all international interactions regarding the Winter Olympics. The RFEDH is headquartered in Barcelona and its president is Frank González, a former ice hockey player and official.

Slovenská hokejová liga

The Slovenská hokejová liga is a professional ice hockey league composed of ten teams in Slovakia. It is the second-level ice hockey league in Slovakia. Prior to its 2019 name change, it used to be known as 1. Hokejova Liga (1HL), or St. Nicolaus 1HL due to a sponsorship agreement with spirits brand St. Nicolaus Trade.

The 2011–12 Slovak 1.Liga season was the 19th season of the Slovak 1. Liga, the second level of ice hockey in Slovakia. 13 teams participated in the league, and HC 46 Bardejov won the championship. With HC Slovan Bratislava joining the Kontinental Hockey League for the following season, HK Spišská Nová Ves, MHk 32 Liptovský Mikuláš, HC 07 Prešov, HC Dukla Senica and ŠHK 37 Piešťany applied to be promoted to the Slovak Extraliga. The Slovak Ice Hockey Federation elected to promote ŠHK 37 Piešťany to the Extraliga. HC 46 Bardejov did not apply for promotion as it is HC Kosice's farm team. HK Púchov was relegated to the Slovak 2.Liga.
