Syd Jacobs

Syd Jacobs is an American paralympic swimmer. She competed at the 1976 Summer Paralympics, winning two silver and three bronze medals. [1] Jacobs works for the National Park Service. [2]

Designed by Frank Lloyd Wright in 1953 and completed in 1954, the John and Syd Dobkins House is one of three Wright-designed Usonian houses in Canton, Ohio. Located farther east than the Nathan Rubin Residence and the Ellis A. Feiman House, it is set back from the road. It's a modest sized home with two bedrooms, and one and a half baths. Its distinctive geometric design module is based upon an equilateral triangle. The mortar in the deep red bricks was deeply raked to emphasize the horizontal.

The Jacob Raphael Building is a historic building located north of downtown Davenport, Iowa, United States. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983. The two-story structure, consisting of a three-bay wide, gable-roofed structure and a five-bay wide “wing”, was completed in 1875. It contains commercial space on the first floor and residential space on the second floor. Noteworthy, is the ground-floor arcade that features fluted cast-iron columns with elaborate capitals. The columns vary in height to accommodate the sloping site.

The F. Jacob Schmidt House is a historic building located in the West End of Davenport, Iowa, United States. F. Jacob Schmidt, who built this house, worked as a cooper. This Queen Anne style house was possibly ordered from a Victorian pattern book. It is a 1½-story structure with a projecting side pavilion. It's noteworthy feature is the sunburst pattern on the main gable. The Eastlake style porch has subsequently been replaced with one of a more simple design. The house has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 1983.

The Jacob Wentz House is a historic building located in Iowa City, Iowa, United States. Wentz was a German immigrant and a shoemaker by trade. This is one of the few native stone houses in Iowa City, and being two stories, rarer still. It is a fine example of the Greek Revival style, featuring symmetrical openings, dressed stone lintels, and a bracketed entablature. Originally a single family residence, it was converted into apartments and it now houses a retail business. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974.

The Jacob Vosseller House is a historic building at 664 Foothill Road in Bridgewater Township, Somerset County, New Jersey. The house was built c. 1753. It was known as Castner's Tavern, and later Allen's Tavern, during the 19th century. The house was added to the National Register of Historic Places on January 23, 1986, for its significance in architecture, commerce, settlement, and transportation.
