Sandymount is a coastal suburb in the Dublin 4 district on the Southside of Dublin in Ireland.
Park Avenue in the suburb of Sandymount, Dublin 4, Ireland is the name of a road joining Sydney Parade Avenue to Gilford Road. It is home to a number of cricket and rugby union grounds including Pembroke Cricket Club, the Railway Union Sports Club and Monkstown Rugby Club. Of architectural note is the Church of St John, noted for its French Bath stone's decay due to its proximity to the sea. The church is on an island at the junction of Park Avenue and St Johns Road, which continues east towards the sea at Sandymount Strand.

Tolka Park is an Irish football ground located in the north Dublin suburb of Drumcondra, on the northern banks of the River Tolka. It is currently the home ground of League of Ireland club Shelbourne. The stadium formerly held 9,680 people, but this has been scaled down in recent times due to health and safety regulations in the venue, mainly concerning the 'New' and Ballybough stands. Tolka Park has hosted national cup finals along with international matches, Champions League qualifiers, UEFA Cup, UEFA Cup Winners' Cup ties and was a venue for the 1994 UEFA European Under-16 Championship and 2000 Rugby League World Cup.
Castle Avenue Cricket Ground, also known as Clontarf Cricket Club Ground, is a cricket facility in the suburb of Clontarf, Dublin, Ireland. It is the primary of the two grounds of Clontarf Cricket Club, the secondary being at Mount Temple Comprehensive School, and the lands on which it lies are also home to two rugby union pitches belonging to Clontarf FC. The ground is one of only four One Day International grounds on the island of Ireland.

Ireland qualified for the 2009 ICC World Twenty20, the 2011 Cricket World Cup and 2010 ICC World Twenty20. In the 2011 World Cup, they beat England in the group matches.

Pembroke Cricket Club was founded in 1868 and is located at Sydney Parade, Park Avenue, just outside the old village of Sandymount in the prosperous Dublin suburb of Ballsbridge. The grounds were part of the lands of the Pembroke Estate from which the club took its name. In 1983, the club bought out the ground from the Estate and now is the joint owner in conjunction with Monkstown Football Club.
Kenure is a cricket ground in Rush, Fingal in Ireland. The first recorded match on the ground was in 1997, when Ireland Under-23s Women played New South Wales Schools Women. In 2000, the ground hosted two Women's One Day Internationals between Ireland women and Pakistan women. In 2002, the ground held a Women's One Day International between Ireland women and India women. Later in 2008, the ground held a Women's Twenty20 International between Ireland women and West Indies women, which West Indies women won by 75 runs.
College Park is a cricket ground in the grounds of Trinity College Dublin in Ireland and is the home ground of Dublin University Cricket Club. A cricket match at Trinity College was mentioned in a poem 1820s between a team from Ballinasloe playing "the Collegians", although whether this match was played on the present ground is not known. The first recorded mention of cricket on the present ground dates from 1868, when Ireland played an All-England Eleven in a non first-class fixture.

The first recorded match on the ground was in 1992, when Munster played North Leinster. In 2005, the ground hosted two List A matches in the 2005 ICC Trophy. The first of these saw Bermuda play Scotland, which resulted in a Scottish victory by 6 wickets. The second of these saw Denmark play Namibia, which resulted 103 run victory for Namibia.

The first recorded match on the ground was in 1867, when North of Ireland played an All-England Eleven in a non first-class match. In 1926, the ground hosted its first first-class match between Ireland and Wales. Eight further first-class matches have been played on the ground, the last of which was in 1999 between Ireland and Scotland. The first List A match held on the ground came in the 1996 NatWest Trophy between Ireland and Sussex, which resulted in a Sussex victory by 304 runs. The second and to date last List A match to be played there came in the 1999 NatWest Trophy when Ireland played the Essex Cricket Board, which Ireland won by 2 wickets. In 1987, the ground hosted a Women's One Day International between Ireland women and the Australia women, which resulted in a 110 run victory for Australia women.
Monkstown Hockey Club is a field hockey club based at Rathdown School in Dún Laoghaire–Rathdown, Ireland. The club was founded in 1894 and was originally based in Monkstown, County Dublin. The club's senior men's team plays in the Men's Irish Hockey League and the Men's Irish Senior Cup. The club's senior women's team plays in the Women's Irish Hockey League and the Women's Irish Senior Cup. Reserve teams play in the Men's Irish Junior Cup and the Women's Irish Junior Cup. Monkstown have also represented Ireland in European competitions, winning the 2013–14 EuroHockey Club Trophy.
Malahide Cricket Club Ground or The Village is a cricket ground in Malahide, Ireland, situated in the Lady Acre field of Malahide Castle grounds. The ground is owned by Malahide Cricket Club. The ground has been developed to a capacity of 11,500, making it Ireland's biggest cricket venue; it officially opened for international cricket in 2013. In November 2017, it was confirmed as the venue for Ireland's first men's Test match, when they played Pakistan in May 2018.
Elena Joy Tice, also referred to as Lena Tice, is an Ireland women's field hockey international. She was a member of the Ireland team that played in the 2018 Women's Hockey World Cup final. Tice is also an Ireland women's cricket international. She was a dual Ireland women's cricket and field hockey international by the age of 17. In 2011, she made her senior international cricket debut, aged just 13 years and 272 days. As a result, after Pakistan's Sajjida Shah, Tice became the second youngest player in the history of cricket, male or female, to make their international debut playing in an official One Day International or Twenty20 International. She also represented Ireland at the 2014 ICC Women's World Twenty20. Tice has also won Irish Senior Cup and Women's Irish Hockey League titles with UCD Ladies' Hockey Club.
