Sunbeams School is a private English medium school in Dhaka, Bangladesh. It was founded by Principal Niloufer Manzur on 15 January 1974. As of 2010, it had an enrollment of between 2,000 and 3,000.

Muhammed Abul ManzurBU was a Bangladeshi military officer who commanded the Bangladesh Forces operations in Sector 8 during the Bangladesh Liberation War against Pakistan in 1971. He was allegedly involved in the assassination of the then-President of Bangladesh, Ziaur Rahman. The erstwhile Chief of Army Staff and alleged mastermind of Rahman's assassination, Hussein Muhammad Ershad, had put a standing shoot-to-kill order on Manzur's life—he was killed shortly after being captured at the border. About a year later, Ershad initiated a bloodless coup d'état and took over the Central Government, holding power until 1990.
Ragib Ali is a Bangladeshi-born British industrialist, pioneer tea-planter and educationalist. He is also associated with bank, insurance companies, and many other businesses. He is the founder of Leading University, Sylhet. In 2017, he was sentenced to 14 years in prison for corruption by the lower court, but later on he was granted bail by the Supreme Court, Dhaka
The Asiatic Society of Bangladesh is a non political and non profit research organisation registered under both Society Act of 1864 and NGO Affairs Bureau, Government of Bangladesh. The Asiatic Society of Bangladesh was established as the Asiatic Society of East Pakistan in Dhaka in 1952 by a number of Muslim leaders, and renamed in 1972. Ahmed Hasan Dani, a noted Muslim historian and archaeologist of Pakistan played an important role in founding this society. He was assisted by Muhammad Shahidullah, a Bengali linguist. The society is housed in Nimtali, walking distance from the Curzon Hall of Dhaka University, locality of Old Dhaka.

Syed Abul Hossain is a Bangladeshi businessman and politician. He is currently the managing director and chairman of SAHCO International Ltd. He served as a member of Jatiya Sangsad for four terms during 1991–1995 and 1996–2014 representing the Madaripur-3 constituency. He served as the Minister of Information and Communication Technology (2011–2012), Minister of Communications (2009–2011) and State Minister of Local Government, Rural Development and Co-operatives (1996–1997).
Nurul Islam Babul was a Bangladeshi business magnate. He was the founder and chairman of the business conglomerate Jamuna Group. He died on 13 July 2020 after being hospitalized in Dhaka for a few days.

The Dhaka School of Economics (DScE) is an undergraduate and postgraduate institution of the University of Dhaka. DScE was founded in April 2010, following the model of the London School of Economics, to promote higher studies and research in economics and related subjects. Its goal is to accommodate the fast-growing demand for well-trained economists and professionals in related subjects, to contribute to teaching, research and evaluation, policymaking and implementation of nation-building programs. Azad Rahman was a Bangladeshi composer. He won Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Music Director twice and Best Male Playback Singer once for his performance in the films Jadur Bashi (1977) and Chandabaz (1993). He received a gold medal in 2011 from Rabindra Bharati University in Kolkata.

Mohammad Fazlul Azim is a Bangladeshi industrialist, business magnate and former politician. He is the chairman of Azim Group, a leading industrial conglomerate and exporter in Bangladesh with business concerns in Garments, Steel, Engineering, Agro and various other sectors. He last served as an independent member of parliament of the Jatiya Sangsad. Azim was the only independent lawmaker in the parliament during the 9th Jatiya Sangsad. He also served in the parliament from the Bangladesh Nationalist Party.
Zahid Maleque is a Bangladesh Awami League politician and the incumbent Minister of Health and Family Welfare. He is the incumbent Jatiya Sangsad member from the Manikganj-3 constituency.
Naziur Rahman Manzur was a Bangladesh Jatiya Party politician, founding chairman of the party, former government minister in the cabinet of Hussain Mohammad Ershad and the first mayor of Dhaka City Corporation.
