Syed Mohammad Shahed is a Bangladeshi professor,researcher,writer and a former Director General of Bangla Academy. He received Bangla Academy Award in essay and research category in 2018. [1] [2]
Shahed obtained his Bachelor's,Master's and PhD from the University of Dhaka in Bangla language and literature. [3] In 1988,he started his career as a faculty member in Bangla Department of the same university. From 13 May 2007 to 12 May 2009,he served as the Director General of Bangla Academy. [4]
Humayun Ahmed was a Bangladeshi novelist,dramatist,screenwriter,filmmaker,songwriter,scholar,and academic. His breakthrough was his debut novel Nondito Noroke published in 1972. He wrote over 200 fiction and non-fiction books. He was one of the most popular authors and filmmakers in post-independence Bangladesh. Pakistani English newspaper Dawn referred to him as the cultural legend of Bangladesh.
Muhammed Zafar Iqbal is a Bangladeshi science fiction author,physicist,academic,activist and former professor of computer science and engineering and former head of the department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST). He achieved his PhD from University of Washington. After working 18 years as a scientist at California Institute of Technology and Bell Communications Research,he returned to Bangladesh and joined Shahjalal University of Science and Technology as a professor of Computer Science and Engineering. He retired from his teaching profession in October 2018. He is considered one of Bangladesh's top science fiction writers.
The Bangla Academy is the official regulatory body of the Bengali language in Bangladesh. It is an autonomous institution funded by the Government of Bangladesh that fosters the Bengali language,literature and culture,works to develop and implement national language policy and conducts original research in Bengali. Established in 1955,it is located in the Burdwan House in Shahbagh,Dhaka,within the grounds of the University of Dhaka and Suhrawardy Udyan. The Bangla Academy hosts the annual Ekushey Book Fair.

Abul Ahsan Choudhury is a poet,researcher and folklorist of Bangladesh. He is the senior professor of the Department of Bengali at the Islamic University,Bangladesh. He is active in research and academic matters home and abroad. He received a Bangla Academy Literary Award in 2009.

Shamsuzzaman Khan was a Bangladeshi academician,folklorist,and writer who served as president of Bangla Academy since June 2020 until his death in April 2021. He also served as the director general of the academy during 2009–2018. He was notable for editing book series on folk culture of 64 different districts in 64 volumes and collections of folklore series in 114 volumes. He was awarded Bangla Academy Literary Award in 2001,Ekushey Padak in 2009 and Independence Day Award in 2017 by the Government of Bangladesh.

Faridi was the founder of Islamic Foundation Bangladesh's Islami Bishwakosh project and also worked closely with Bangladesh Scouts.
Muhammed Sadique is a Bangladeshi retired government official,politician,and writer who is currently the member of parliament for Sunamganj-4. He previously served as the 13th chairman of Bangladesh Public Service Commission. He was awarded Bangla Academy Literary Award in 2017 for his contributions to Bengali poetry.
