Humayun Ahmed was a Bangladeshi novelist,dramatist,screenwriter,filmmaker,songwriter,scholar,and academic. His breakthrough was his debut novel Nondito Noroke published in 1972. He wrote over 200 fiction and non-fiction books. He was one of the most popular authors and filmmakers in post-independence Bangladesh. The Bangla Academy is the official regulatory body of the Bengali language in Bangladesh. It is an autonomous institution funded by the Government of Bangladesh that fosters the Bengali language,literature and culture,works to develop and implement national language policy and conducts original research in Bengali. Established in 1955,it is located in the Burdwan House in Shahbagh,Dhaka,within the grounds of the University of Dhaka and Suhrawardy Udyan. The Bangla Academy hosts the annual Ekushey Book Fair.

Tauquir Ahmed is a Bangladeshi architect and actor,turned director in both television and cinema. His films won many international and national awards including Bangladesh National Film Awards in the Best Director,Best Screenplay and Best Story categories for the films Joyjatra (2004) and Oggatonama (2016).

Shamsuzzaman Khan was a Bangladeshi academician,folklorist,and writer who served as president of Bangla Academy since June 2020 until his death in April 2021. He also served as the director general of the academy during 2009–2018. He was notable for editing book series on folk culture of 64 different districts in 64 volumes and collections of folklore series in 114 volumes. Abul FaraḥMuḥammad ʿAbdul Ḥaque Farīdī was a Bangladeshi educator and author. In recognition of his contributions in the field of linguistics,he was awarded a Bangla Academy Fellowship. Faridi was the founder of Islamic Foundation Bangladesh's Islami Bishwakosh project and also worked closely with Bangladesh Scouts.
Muhammed Sadique is a Bangladeshi retired government official,politician,and writer who is currently the member of parliament for Sunamganj-4. He previously served as the 13th chairman of Bangladesh Public Service Commission. He was awarded Bangla Academy Literary Award in 2017 for his contributions to Bengali poetry.
Mahmud Shah Qureshi is a Bangladeshi academic and former Director General of Bangla Academy. He established the Institute of Bangladesh Studies at the University of Rajshahi. He is a recipient of the Ekushey Padak. He is an expert of French Literature.
