Syed Muzammil Shah (Template:Lang-ur; born 1990) is a Pakistani journalist, political analyst, television host, and YouTuber. He currently hosts Statecraft on Express News. [1]
Shah was born in Vehari, Punjab, Pakistan to a Saraiki family. [2] His father, Jamil Hussain Syed, is an Urdu poet and journalist who was involved in the Saraikistan province movement during the 1980s and 1990s. [3]
He studied at Forman Christian College in Lahore, and later attended the National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences (NUCES), Lahore. [3]
Shah began his journalism career at Channel Five and subsequently worked at Neo News. He joined GNN in 2018 and later appeared as an analyst on Ab Pata Chala at BOL News. [4] He moved to Express News where he began hosting the current affairs programme Statecraft. [5]
Alongside his television work, Shah runs a YouTube channel featuring political commentary and social critique. [6]
On 4 December 2024, Shah's residence in Lahore was attacked by masked assailants, reportedly in connection with his political commentary. [7] [8] [9]
Following the 2025 Pahalgam attack, his YouTube channel was among several Pakistani accounts restricted by the Indian government. [10]
