T. G. Thyagarajan (Thyagarajan Govindarajan) is an Indian film producer. [1] He made his debut as film producer with critically acclaimed film Moondram Pirai . He is the founder of the production and distribution company Sathya Jyothi Films. He has produced over 30 films and few television series with the production studio. His father Venus Govindarajan was also a reputed film producer. [2]

Career

Thyagarajan initially produced films with Satya Movies owned by his father-in-law R. M. Veerappan before founding Sathya Jyothi Films in 1970's. [3] His first independent production venture, the Kamal Haasan starrer Moondram Pirai (1982) was a commercial success and was critically acclaimed. [4] The film also won the Tamil Nadu State Award for Best Film. His next venture Pagal Nilavu (1985) which was a maiden collaboration with Mani Ratnam was unsuccessful venture at the box office. Thyagarajan also produced sleeper hit film Parthiban Kanavu (2003) which eventually bagged the Tamil Nadu State Award for Best Film. He produced back to back 3 films with stars like Dhanush, Vikram Prabhu & Ajith Kumar in 2016 and 2017 titled Thodari (2016), Sathriyan (2017) and Vivegam (2017) respectively. In 2019, his production venture Viswasam became a box office success grossing around 200 crores which was also one of the biggest hit of his career. [7] After Viswasam, Thyagarajan collaborated with Dhanush again with Pattas (2020) which portrayed the Tamil martial arts Adimurai. [8] [9]

Pattas ( transl. Firecracker) is a 2020 Indian Tamil-language martial arts film directed by R. S. Durai Senthilkumar and produced by Sathya Jyothi Films. It stars Dhanush in a dual role, alongside Sneha and Mehreen Pirzada. Naveen Chandra, Nassar, Munishkanth and Manobala play supporting roles. The film entered production in March 2019 and ended that December. It was released theatrically on 15 January 2020, coinciding with Pongal, to mixed reviews from critics but became a box office success.

<i>Viswasam</i> (soundtrack) 2018 soundtrack album by D. Imman

Viswasam is the soundtrack album composed by D. Imman for the Indian Tamil-language action drama film of the same name directed by Siva, starring Ajith Kumar and produced by Sendhil Thyagarajan and Arjun Thyagarajan of Sathya Jyothi Films. The film was initially announced with Yuvan Shankar Raja as the composer, who left the project citing schedule conflicts and several other composers were rumoured to score music before the team approached Imman as the music director. This film marked Imman's first collaboration with Ajith Kumar and Siva.

K. Manikandan is an Indian screenwriter, actor and film director who works in the Tamil film industry. He is best known of his characters in Jai Bhim (2021), Good Night (2023), and Lover (2024).

Maaran is a 2022 Indian Tamil-language political action thriller film written and directed by Karthick Naren, with the screenplay and dialogues were co-written by Suhas-Sharfu and Vivek. Produced by T. G. Thyagarajan, Sendhil Thyagarajan and Arjun Thyagarajan of Sathya Jyothi Films, the film stars Dhanush, Smruthi Venkat and Malavika Mohanan, with Samuthirakani, Ramki, Mahendran and Krishnakumar Balasubramanian appearing in supporting roles. The music is composed by G. V. Prakash Kumar, with cinematography handled by Vivekanand Santhosham and editing handled by Prasanna G. K.
