THYX is an electronic music project created by mind.in.a.box front man, Stefan Poiss. [1] The project was founded in 2012 and four full-length albums have been produced. Many of the THYX tracks have a complementary, but not identical, sound to Poiss's other main project; mind.in.a.box. [4]

The sound of THYX has been described as having a crisp, entrancing, nostalgic, and distinct musical soundscape. [5] [6] [7] [8] THYX crosses the musical genres of Electronic, Progressive, Experimental, Industrial, and Electro, with many tracks suitable for club dancing. [9] [10] [11] Poiss has been noted for using a signature flavor of modulated vocals, synthesized instruments, and dramatic shifts, in many of his compositions. [4]

THYX is self-described as, "The wave between sound and resonance. Much in the same manner as mind.in.a.box, the music is heavily influenced by futurist elements and cyberpunk concepts. [8] THYX often follows in the footsteps of mind.in.a.box regarding melody, form, and the use of digitized, delicate, machine-like vocals. [4] [12] [13] Yet, THYX distinctly differs from Poiss's work in mind.in.a.box along several key avenues such as including a greater influence of musical genre sounds, and more diverse lyrical content. THYX also differs by omitting a reoccurring narrative from the discography such as that which appears across most of the mind.in.a.box albums. [14]

History

THYX was formed in 2012, although project creator Stefan Poiss has indicated that the foundation for THYX was laid around 2000 with the composition of a track entitled "THYX." [15] This title was designed as an acronym for a particular musical state of reality. Poiss has affirmed that the THYX music project is about rediscovering this specific, elusive, musical state, that he found during musical experimentation.

THYX has been described as having taken up the banner from where other artists in alternative electronic music left off in the 1990s, and thus is distinctly experimental and unique, even within the contemporary electronic music community. [4]

In 2012, Poiss created a fan-based track titled "Project Tape Evidence." The song was composed of various samples from individual contributors among the THYX and mind.in.a.box fan bases. [16] The project name was in reference to the song, "Tape Evidence," which is a separate track, appearing on the 2006, mind.in.a.box album, Dreamweb. [17]

THYX was listed by the German Electronic Web Charts for "Network Of Light" in 14th rank on 2013-06-16, [18] as well as for "Super Vision" in 6th rank on 2014-05-17, and 4th rank on 2014-06-06. [19] [20]

mind.in.a.box is an Austrian electronic music band which was founded in 2002 by childhood friends Stefan Poiss and Markus Hadwiger. Poiss is responsible for the sound, vocals and production of their music while Poiss and Hadwiger collaborate on developing the story and writing the lyrics. Their "technopop" sound can be described as a cross between futurepop and progressive trance.

Little, Missy Mazzoli, Mikael Karlsson, Ricky Ian Gordon, Paola Prestini and Du Yun, soprano Lauren Worsham, producers Beth Morrison and Lawrence Edelson, and conductors Steven Osgood, Julian Wachner and Alan Pierson.

<i>Dance of the Headless Bourgeoisie</i> 1998 studio album by Nomeansno

Dance of the Headless Bourgeoisie is the eighth full-length album released by Canadian punk rock band Nomeansno. It was initially released on Alternative Tentacles in 1998 as a 10-track CD and 12-track double LP. The band's own label Wrong Records, along with distributors Southern Records, re-released the 12-track version of the album in 2007, 2010, and 2014 with modified track order and art.

Bryan "Braille" Winchester is an American hip hop recording artist. He has been writing and recording hip-hop music since he was 13 years old. For a short time, Bryan and his family relocated to the Marlton section of Evesham Township, New Jersey where he attended Eastern Regional High School in Voorhees Township. Before the Mourning

Before the Mourning (also initialized as B4TM) was an American heavy metal band from Los Angeles, California. The band has released two EPs entitled Remembrance as well as Damned and Forsaken, and published full-length album Etherial End on 21 August 2015. On 24 November 2015, the ensemble announced that they have permanently split up.

The music of the 1998 role-playing video game Parasite Eve, based on the novel of the same name by Hideaki Sena, was composed by Yoko Shimomura, and was one of her early popular successes. The music for its 2001 sequel Parasite Eve II was composed by Naoshi Mizuta and arranged by Hiroshi Nakajima. The 2010 spin-off title The 3rd Birthday was composed for by Shimomura, Mitsuto Suzuki and Tsuyoshi Sekito. Shimomura's work was described by herself as experimental, and incorporated multiple musical genres including opera music. The score for Parasite Eve was recorded at the Andora Studios in Los Angeles. For Parasite Eve II, Mizuta spent a year and a half on the project, using the game's scenario and visuals as references and taking inspiration from multiple film genres. It was Mizuta's first project after transferring from Capcom to Square Enix. For The 3rd Birthday, Shimomura worked with Suzuki and Sekito to create a score reminiscent of Parasite Eve, while Japanese rock band Superfly provided the theme song "Eyes on Me".

Wintergatan

Wintergatan is a Swedish folktronica band from Gothenburg. Martin Molin and Marcus Sjöberg were previously part of the former band Detektivbyrån. The band uses a variety of unconventional instruments including the Modulin, a fingerboard-controlled synthesizer built from Doepfer eurorack modules, the Moog Theremini digital theremin, an electric autoharp, a hammered dulcimer, a self-built punch-card music box, a slide projector, a musical saw, and a typewriter for use as percussion.

Gordy Haab is an American film, video game and television composer based in Los Angeles, California. His work has been featured in works associated with franchises including most recently Star Wars Battlefront II, for which he won Video Game Score of the Year from the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers. Haab is also known for his work on Microsoft's Halo Wars 2, for which he was nominated for a 2017 HMMA award. His score for Electronic Arts' Star Wars: Battlefront, won three awards at the 2016 GDC G.A.N.G. Awards: Music of the Year, Best Interactive Score, and Best Instrumental Score. Gordy has also been nominated for a BAFTA Games Awards for his work on 'Star Wars: Battlefront.'

SixTones is a Japanese idol boy band formed by Johnny & Associates in 2015. The group was previously a sub-unit of Johnny & Associates' pre-debut trainee group, Johnny's Jr. SixTones made their official debut on 22 January 2020. SixTones makes the best selling debut group since KAT-TUN in 2006. Their sold in Japan 4.37 million physical copies.
