Tyree Hakeem Jamar Adams, professionally known as TJ Atoms, is an American actor, musician, producer, clothing designer and animator from North Philadelphia.
Atoms gained mainstream recognition following his breakthrough role as Ol' Dirty Bastard (ODB) on Hulu’s drama biopic series Wu-Tang: An American Saga . [1]
Atoms is from North Philadelphia. Atoms was discovered in the streets of Philadelphia [1] when he was cast for a music video role in the song Fault Line by August Burns Red. [2]
Atoms was also a member of the Philadelphia hip-hop group The Bakery Boys. [3] The group intertwined skateboard culture with art and underground music [4]
Atoms played the role of the late rapper Ason Unique, professionally known as Ol' Dirty Bastard in the Wu-Tang: An American Saga, is a drama-biopic series on Hulu. The first season of the biopic aired in 2019. The show aired for three seasons. [5] [6] [7]
In 2020, Atoms played the role of Kamal, in the Netflix comedy The 40-Year-Old Version. He also appeared on Phels High.
In 2024, he was cast to play a role in Splash City, which is still being developed. [8]
In 2021, it was announced that Atoms would be featuring in the film, Iron Mike, a Hulu series that chronicles the life of retired American boxer Mike Tyson. [9] In the film which was released in 2022, Atoms played the role of Barkim, Mike Tyson's friend.
