Cultural Impact

Tabproduction Studios is widely recognized as a pioneering force in Zambia's animation industry. Its debut anime, The Super, is credited with inspiring a new generation of Zambian creatives and helping to establish animation as a growing sector in the country. [8] The launch of The Super attracted sold-out screenings and notable attendees including the Japanese Ambassador, who commended the project for fostering international collaboration. The studio’s projects often focus on socially relevant themes, as seen in Twaano and the public health series BAD WATER.

Awards and Recognition

In 2025, Tabproduction Studios was chosen to participate in the UNESCO Animation Directors Lab, in partnership with Triggerfish Animation Studios. [9] Founder Tabitha Mwale has been nominated for awards at CANEX, Fak’ugesi, and the Zambian International Film Festival. [10]
