The Sherpa are one of the Tibetan ethnic groups native to the most mountainous regions of Nepal, Tingri County in the Tibet Autonomous Region and the Himalayas. The term sherpa or sherwa derives from the Sherpa language words ཤར shar ("east") and པ pa ("people"), which refer to their geographical origin of eastern Tibet.
The Tamang are an Tibeto-Burmese language-speaking indigenous ethnic tribal community native to Nepal. In Nepal Tamang/Moormi people constitute 5.6% of the Nepalese population at over 1.3 million in 2001, increasing to 1,539,830 as of the 2011 census. Tamang people are also found in significant numbers in the Indian state of Sikkim and districts of Darjeeling and Kalimpong in West Bengal state of India and various districts in the southern foothills of the Kingdom of Bhutan. Such districts include the Tsirang District, the Dagana District, the Samtse District, the Chukha District, the Sarpang District and the Samdrup Jongkhar District. Tamang language is the fifth most-spoken language in Nepal.
Phungling Municipality is a municipality located in Taplejung District in the Province No. 1 of Nepal. The municipality was formed merging the then two Village Development Committees of Phungling and Dokhu in May 2014. At the time of the 2011 Nepal census it had a population of 19,085 people and 4,480 individual households.
Dharan is a sub-metropolitan city in Sunsari District of Province No. 1, Nepal, which was established as a fourth municipality in the Kingdom in 1958. It is the third most populous city in Eastern Nepal after Biratnagar and Itahari. It is the largest city in the province number one by Area. It covers 192.32 square kilometers while Biratnagar and Itahari is 2nd and 3rd biggest cities by Area
Jhapa is a district of Province No. 1 in eastern Nepal named after a Rajbanshi word "Jhapa" meaning "to cover" (verb). The latest official data, the 2011 Nepal Census, puts the total population of the district at 812,650. The total area of the district is 1606 square kilometres.
Ramechhap District, a part of Bagmati Province, is one of the seventy-seven districts of Nepal, a landlocked country of South Asia. The town of Salleri, which is located within the municipality is the headquarter of Solukhumbu District It was formed in 2014 by merging four VDCs: Salleri, Garma, Loding Tamakhani and Beni and was divided into 9 wards. Total area of the municipality had 254.3 square kilometres (98.2 sq mi) and population of municipality had 20,399 individuals living in 5,368 households.
Baku is a village development committee (VDC) in Solukhumbu District in the Sagarmatha Zone of north-eastern Nepal. Baku lies in the Himalaya, 59 km South of Mount Everest and is bordered by the valleys of Dudh Kosi River (West) and Hinku Drangka River (East). At the time of the 1991 Nepal census it had a population of 4159 people living in 777 individual households. At the 2011 census, the population of the VDC Baku was 4844 inhabitants in 963 individual households.
Lokhim is village located in Thulung Dudhkoshi Rural Municipality, Ward No. 9. It is one of the most attractive and culturally rich villages in eastern Nepal. The chairperson of the village is Bhupal Shing Rai. The village is surrounded with lush greens, flora and fauna. Lokhim is located at approximately 400km south-east of the capital Kathmandu.

Province No. 1 is the easternmost of the seven provinces established by the new constitution of Nepal which was adopted on 20 September 2015. Khumbu Pasanglhamu is a rural municipality (Gaunpalika) out of 7 rural municipalities located at Solukhumbu district of Province No. 1 of Nepal. Khumjung, Namche & Jubing and Chaurikharka were incorporated while creating it. It has the total population of 9,133 according to the 2011 Nepal census and area of 1,539.11 square kilometres (594.25 sq mi). The admin centre of this gaunpalika is that of the Chaurikharka.
Sundar Haraicha is a municipality in Morang District of Province No. 1 in Nepal. It is centered around Biratchowk town which is the gateway to Biratnagar. It borders Itahari Sub- Metropolitan city to the West, Dharan Sub- Metropolitan city to the Northwest and Belbari municipality to the East and is connected by the Mahendra Highway. It is one of the fastest growing cities in the Eastern Nepal and the second largest city of Morang district after Biratnagar with 121,305 inhabitants living in 26,677 households. It consists the town centres of Biratchowk and Gothgaun which are parts of the Greater Birat Development Area which incorporates the cities of Biratnagar-Itahari-Gothgau-Biratchowk-Dharan primarily located on the Koshi Highway in Eastern Nepal, with an estimated total urban agglomerated population of 804,300 people living in 159,332 households.
Khiraule is a Sherpa village located in Solukhumbu District Province No. 1, part of northeastern Nepal. It is 50.0 km south of Mt. Everest and 148 km east of Kathmandu at an elevation of 2,400 m. The village has an area of six square kilometres, almost half of which is covered in forest. Khiraule used to be classified as a village of Ward no. 9 of Bung Village Development Committee, but after the dissolution of the committees and establishment of gaunpalikas, it was reclassified as one of the villages of Ward no. 1 of Mahakulung Rural Municipality.
