Flying Nun Records is a New Zealand independent record label formed in Christchurch in 1981 by music store manager Roger Shepherd. Described by The Guardian as "one of the world's great independent labels", Flying Nun is notable for bringing global attention to the Dunedin sound, a cultural and musical movement in early 1980s Dunedin, which gave rise to modern indie rock.

Chocolate and Cheese is the fourth studio album by the American rock band Ween, originally released by Elektra Records in 1994. Doss was married to freelance photographer Amy Hairston Doss, whom he met while both were attending Louisiana Tech University.
Rachel Stamp are an English rock band formed in London in 1994. Their debut album, Hymns For Strange Children, was released in 2000, followed by Oceans of Venus two years later.
Music from the Unrealized Film Script: Dusk at Cubist Castle is the debut studio album by American band the Olivia Tremor Control, released on August 6, 1996, by Flydaddy Records. It is an eclectic album that encompasses a variety of genres, including indie pop, neo-psychedelia, and psychedelic pop. The first half of the album features songs that are influenced by bands of 1960s and 1970s, such as the Beach Boys and the Beatles. The second half features more experimental songs, including two long instrumental songs influenced by drone music and musique concrète. Dusk at Cubist Castle purports to be the soundtrack to an unfinished film, and the lyrics focus on surrealist imagery.
The 3Ds were a New Zealand noise pop band based from Dunedin, together from 1988 to 1997. They recorded three albums and several EPs, the best known of which is The Venus Trail (1993). They achieved commercial and critical success worldwide in the period between 1992 and 1995.

Black Swan Network is a musical side project of The Olivia Tremor Control. After their releases, the band members became busier with their other projects, and Black Swan Network appears to be on permanent hiatus.

Recorded in February 1995 and August and September 1997 at Rancho De La Luna, it was released by Man's Ruin Records on May 12, 1998. The album features eight credited musicians, including Josh Homme, Peter Stahl and Ben Shepherd. It was later re-released with Volume 4: Hard Walls and Little Trips as Volumes 3 & 4.

Recorded in August 1997 at Rancho De La Luna, it was released by Man's Ruin Records on February 10, 1998. The album features eight credited musicians, including Josh Homme, John McBain and Ben Shepherd. It was later re-released with Volume 1: Instrumental Driving Music for Felons in 1998 as Volumes 1 & 2.
Lauren Hoffman is an American singer-songwriter. She released her debut album Megiddo through Virgin Records in 1997 to critical praise. In 1999 Hoffman independently issued her second LP From The Blue House and an EP, A Harmless Little Kiss. Her third album Choreography was released through French record label Fargo Records in 2006 and includes her single "Broken".
The Sky Above the Mud Below is an album by New Zealand band Tall Dwarfs released in 2002. It includes an International Tall Dwarfs EP called The Weidenhaüsen Impediment ("FREE!!!"), but it remains unclear whether this was also released separately. Friends of the band recorded sounds for this EP, which were then turned into songs by Bathgate and Knox. The Sky Above the Mud Below, is the most recent album released by the Tall Dwarfs.
