Tanner Wall is an American college football safety for the BYU Cougars.
Wall attended Yorktown High School located in Arlington County, Virginia. Coming out of high school, Wall would serve a full-time mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Maceio, Brazil from 2018 to 2020. He committed to play college football for the BYU Cougars joining the team as a walk-on. [1] [2]
During his first two seasons in 2021 and 2022 he played as a wide receiver, where he did not tally any receptions. [3] Heading into the 2023 season, Wall switched from wide receiver to safety. [4] During his first season at safety in 2023, he appeared in five games with three starts, notching 22 tackles. [5] Wall entered the 2024 season, as a full-time starter in the Cougars secondary. [6] He finished the 2024 season, starting in all 13 games, totaling 53 tackles and three interceptions. [7] In week eight of the 2025 season, Wall recorded ten tackles and an interception in a victory versus Utah, where for his performance he was named the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week. [8]
