Larisa Semyonovna Latynina is a Soviet former artistic gymnast. Between 1956 and 1964 she won 14 individual Olympic medals and four team medals. She holds the record for the most Olympic gold medals by a female gymnast with nine. Her total of 18 Olympic medals was a record for 48 years. She held the record for individual event medals for over 52 years, winning 14. She is credited with helping to establish the Soviet Union as a dominant force in gymnastics.

Williams won the silver medal at the 1999 IAAF World Indoor Championships in Maebashi. Her personal best of 7.01 m ranks her as the fifth best American in the long jump on the all-time lists. She is a two-time USA Indoor champion and also won the gold medal at the 1998 Goodwill Games.
The women's 1500 metres competition was an event at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, United Kingdom. The competition was held at the Olympic Stadium from 6–10 August. In 2016, the Independent called the race the dirtiest in history, with the BBC echoing this view. Six of the first nine finishers have been found to have been doping. The top two finishers were later found to have used prohibited drugs during this period and were disqualified; the runner subsequently raised to the silver medal position, Tatyana Tomashova, had served a two-year doping ban (2008–2010) for manipulating samples and was banned after the Olympics for failing another drug test, and 7th-place finisher Natallia Kareiva and 9th-place finisher Yekaterina Kostetskaya were disqualified after also being found guilty of doping. As of early September 2024, five of the initial twelve finishers had been disqualified for doping violations.
Tatyana Vasilyevna Kalmykova is a female Russian race walker. She represented Russia at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, and competed in the women's 20 km race walk, along with her teammates Tatyana Sibileva and Olga Kaniskina, who eventually won the gold medal for this event. In spite of tumultuous rains, Kalmykova did not hinder her chances of racing around a 20 km walk; however, she received a final warning for not following the proper form during the 14 km lap, and was subsequently disqualified.
Chelsea Hammond is a Jamaican long jumper, who competed at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing. She nearly missed out of the podium in the women's long jump, when Nigeria's Blessing Okagbare obtained her best possible mark of 6.91 metres at her third attempt, to claim the bronze medal. In 2017, the second-place finisher, Tatyana Lebedeva had a positive test for turinabol and was disqualified from her silver medal. The medals were redistributed and Blessing Okagbare was advanced to silver, and Chelsea Hammond was advanced to bronze.
Tatyana Akhmetova-Amanzhol is an amateur Kazakh freestyle wrestler, who wrestled in the women's flyweight category. In 2009, Bakatyuk won a gold medal for the 51 kg class at the Asian Wrestling Championships in Pattaya, Thailand, and at the FILA Golden Grand Prix in Baku, Azerbaijan.
Shaimaa Abdul-Aziz Muhammad is an Egyptian table tennis player. She won a silver medal, along with her partner Moselhi Emad, in the mixed doubles at the 2007 All-Africa Games in Algiers, Algeria. As of March 2013, Abdul-Aziz is ranked no. 566 in the world by the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF). She is also right-handed, and uses the classic grip.
