UCI World Tour

The UCI WorldTour is the premier men's elite road cycling tour, sitting above the various regional UCI Continental Circuits. It refers to both the tour of 38 events and, until 2019, an annual ranking system based upon performances in these. The World Ranking was launched in 2009, and merged fully with its predecessor the UCI ProTour in 2011. UCI WorldTeams must compete at all events that were part of the tour prior to the 2017 expansion.

The 2014 UCI World Tour was the sixth edition of the ranking system launched by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) in 2009. The series started with the opening stage of the Tour Down Under on 21 January, and concluded with the final stage of the Tour of Beijing on 14 October.

Sam Gaze New Zealand mountain bike racer

Samuel William Gaze is a New Zealand cross-country and road cyclist, who currently rides for UCI Continental team Alpecin–Fenix Development Team. He won the under-23 Cross-Country at the 2016 UCI Mountain Bike & Trials World Championships and the 2017 UCI Mountain Bike World Championships. He also competes on occasion in road racing events, winning the National Criterium Championships in 2017 and 2018.

Sam Welsford Australian cyclist

Sam Welsford is an Australian professional racing cyclist, who last rode for UCI Continental team Pro Racing Sunshine Coast. He rode in the men's team pursuit at the 2016 UCI Track Cycling World Championships winning a gold medal. Welsford won the 2019 UCI Men's elite Scratch race world championships less than an hour after breaking the 2019 UCI Track Cycling World Championships – Men's team pursuit World Record in a time of 3 minutes 48.012 seconds.

Eolo–Kometa is an Italian-registered, Spanish-based UCI ProTeam cycling team, that was founded in 2018. The team was promoted from the UCI Continental level in 2021.

The 2019 Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race was a road cycling one-day race that took place on 27 January 2019 in Geelong, Australia. It was the fifth edition of the Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race and the second event of the 2019 UCI World Tour.
