Tehmas Khan Football Stadium (sometimes called Tamas Khan Football Ground) is a historic football ground located at Faqeerabad, Peshawar, the capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. [1]

Overview

The stadium is located near the historic Shahi Bagh, adjacent to Arbab Niaz Cricket Stadium and Peshawar Gymkhana Ground. [2] [3] [4] It is popular among footballers and football tournaments are regularly staged here. [5] [6] [7] [8] The stadium seats 6,000 spectators. [9]

The 28th edition of National Football Challenge Cup was held here from 19 July to 4 August 2019. [10]

The sport complex has facilities for all major sports including football, field hockey, squash, wrestling and badminton. The sport complex is owned by the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. It can accommodate 30,000 spectators and is located within walking distance of Peshawar Saddar and Peshawar Cantonment railway station.

Pervez Khan Khattak is a Pakistani politician who served as the Minister of Defence from August 2018 until April 2022. He had been a member of the National Assembly of Pakistan from August 2018 till January 2023. Prior to that, he served as the 22nd Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from 2013 to 2018, elected to the Provincial Assembly from Nowshera District. Peshawar Circular Railway or Greater Peshawar Mass-Transit Circular Rail Project is a proposed inter-regional commuter rail system for the Peshawar Valley or Greater Peshawar metropolitan area which aims to connect several industrial and commercial districts within Peshawar to the outlying suburbs and cities of Jamrud, Charsadda, Mardan, Nowshera, with future expansion to Swabi. The PCR will primarily serve the Metropolitan Peshawar region, with operations extending to several other communities. In August 2016, the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa signed a $1.6 billion memorandum of understanding (MoU) with China Communication and Construction Company for the project. This railway is expected to resolve transportation problems in the Peshawar region and generate jobs leading to the overall economic revival of the province. Abdul Wali Khan Sports Complex also known as Charsadda Sports Complex is located in Charsadda, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, in Pakistan. It is the 2nd largest sports complex in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa after Qayyum Sports Complex Peshawar. The sport complex has started functioning in 2016 and has been completed at the cost of Rs.490 million.

General elections were held in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Wednesday, 25 July 2018 to elect the 51 members of 15th National Assembly from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) obtained a landslide victory in the province by winning 37 general seats and increased their margin of victory from 2013. The PTI also won 8 out of 10 reserved seats while the Pakistan Muslim League (N) (PML-N) and Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA) won 1 reserved seat each.
