The Bahujan Samaj Party is a political party in India that was formed to represent Bahujans, referring to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Other Backward Classes (OBC), along with religious minorities. According to Kanshi Ram, when he founded the party in 1984, the Bahujans comprised 85 percent of India's population, but were divided into 6,000 different castes. The party claims to be inspired by the philosophy of B. R. Ambedkar, Mahatma Jyotiba Phule, Narayana Guru, Chhatrapati Shahuji Maharaj, and Gautama Buddha.
Kumari Mayawati is an Indian politician who served as the 18th Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh from 1995 to 1995, 1997 to 1997, 2002 to 2003 and from 2007 to 2012. Narasimha Rao, former prime minister of India. In 1993, Kanshi Ram formed a coalition with the Samajwadi Party and Mayawati became the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh in 1995. She was the first female Scheduled Caste chief minister in India. In 1997 and in 2002 she was chief minister with outside support from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the second time only for a year up to 26 August 2003 due to BJP withdrawing support.
The Dalit Buddhist movement is a religious as well as a socio-political movement among Dalits in India which was started by B. R. Ambedkar. It re-interpreted Buddhism and created a new school of Buddhism called Navayana. The movement has sought to be a socially and politically engaged form of Buddhism.

Kanshi Ram, also known as Bahujan Nayak or Manyavar, Sahab Kanshiram was an Indian politician and social reformer who worked for the upliftment and political mobilisation of the Bahujans, the backward or lower caste people including untouchable groups at the bottom of the caste system in India. Towards this end, Kanshi Ram founded Dalit Shoshit Samaj Sangharsh Samiti (DS-4), the All India Backwards (SC/ST/OBC) and Minorities Communities Employees' Federation (BAMCEF) in 1971 and the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) in 1984. He ceded leadership of the BSP to his protégé Mayawati who has served four terms as Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh.
The Republican Party of India was a political party in India. It had its roots in the Scheduled Castes Federation led by B. R. Ambedkar. The 'Training School for Entrance to Politics' was established by Ambedkar in 1956 which was to serve as an entry point to the Republican Party of India (RPI). The first batch of the school consisted of 15 students. Its first batch turned out to be last batch as the school was closed after Ambedkar's death in 1956.

Ambedkar Memorial Park, formally known as Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Samajik Parivartan Prateek Sthal, is a public park and memorial in Gomti Nagar, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India. The memorial is dedicated to B. R. Ambedkar, the 20th century Indian polymath and the first law minister of India.
Hardas Laxmanrao Nagrale, popularly known as Babu Hardas, was an Indian Dalit leader, politician and social reformer. He was an ardent follower of B. R. He defeated his nearest rival Rakesh Pandey of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) by a margin of 139,429 votes. He is the first person from BJP to win Ambedkar nagar constituency. He is also cousin of NRI Researcher Kaushlendra Tripathi.
Ganpatrao Govindrao Jadhav was an Indian freedom activist, journalist and writer. He was the founder of Pudhari, a Marathi daily founded in 1937. The Government of India awarded him the fourth-highest Indian civilian honour of Padma Shri in 1984 and issued a commemorative postage stamp with his image on 12 November 2009.
Ritesh Pandey is an Indian politician who has served as the Member of Parliament from Ambedkar Nagar constituency. He was a member of the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) from the state of Uttar Pradesh. Pandey resigned from Bahujan Samaj Party and joined Bharatiya Janata Party in February 2024. He was also a MLA from Jalalpur constituency in Ambedkar Nagar district, which he represented between June 2017 and May 2019 before elected as MP in. Teesri Azadi is a 2006 Indian Hindi-language film on caste system by Jabbar Patel. Film is based on "twisted version" of Ramayana and Mahabharata. This film was distributed on CDs in different parts of India by Akhil Bharatiya Baba Sahab Dr Ambedkar Samaj Sudhar Samiti, Bhimrao Ambedkar Samaj Sudhar Samiti and Ambedkar Boudhik Sanghathan. In July 2006, shooting Teesri Azadi was completed in Maharashtra and released online on YouTube. The distributors of the movie claimed that they have support of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) but BSP rejected these claims and a CBI investigation was ordered by Chief Minister Mayawati into the making of the movie over allegations of creating communal disharmony. The investigation initially resulted in arrested of three people involved in the making of the movie.
Rakesh Pandey is an Indian politician and a member of the 18th Uttar Pradesh Assembly from Jalalpur as a Samajwadi Party candidate. He was a Member of Parliament in the 15th Lok Sabha from Ambedkar Nagar as a Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) candidate. From 2002 to 2007, he was a MLA in the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly. In January 2022, Pandey left Bahujan Samaj Party and joined Samajwadi Party.

Ambedkarism includes special focus on subjects such as fraternity, democracy, communal electorates, conversion out of Hinduism, political power, rule of law, Navayana, among others. An Ambedkarite is one who follows the philosophy of Ambedkar. Icons of Ambedkarite ideology also include Periyar, Jyotirao Phule and others.
