Valiyev is a bronze medalist from the 2019 Judo Grand Slam Baku in the 73 kg category. [3]

As of March 2018 he was ranked #9 in the world in the U73 kg division. Butbul was a member of the Israeli team that won a bronze medal at the Tokyo Olympics.
