Temmie Ovwasa (born 29 November 1996), known as YBNL Princess, [1] is a Nigerian alternative R&B singer. They signed a record deal with YBNL Nation in August 2015 [2] but left the label in 2020 after having a disagreement with the label owner Olamide. [1] [3] Ovwasa is openly lesbian [4] [5] and identifies as non-binary. [6] [7] [8] In 2020, They dropped the first openly gay album in Nigeria. [9]

Early life

Ovwasa was born on 29 November, 1996 in Ilorin to a father from Delta State and mother from Osun State. [10] [11] Ovwasa had their basic education at Grace Christian Schools and their secondary school education at Dalex Royal College, both in Ilorin, Kwara State. They studied Medical Anatomy at Ladoke Akintola University of Technology. [12] [13]

Career

Ovwasa started singing at an early age of eight when they wrote their first song and was part of their church choir [13] and due to their musical talent, their mother gave them their first guitar when they were 12. [14] They shot to limelight in 2015 when Olamide reached out to them via Instagram and was then signed to YBNL record label which earned them the name YBNL Princess. [15] Ovwasa left YBNL after a disagreement with the label boss. [2] [16]

Baddest Guy Ever Liveth is the third studio album by Nigerian musician Olamide. It was released on November 7, 2013, by YBNL Nation. Recorded between 2012 and 2013, the album features collaborations with Pheelz, Ice Prince, Pepenazi, Phyno and Bez, among others. Baddest Guy Ever Liveth was produced entirely by Pheelz, except for the thirteenth track "Sitting on the Throne".

YBNL is the second studio album by Nigerian musician Olamide. It was released by YBNL Nation on November 12, 2012. A follow-up to his debut studio album, Rapsodi (2011), YBNL features from Kayswitch, Tiwa Savage, Dammy Krane, Davido, Kida Kudz, and Reminisce and Base One, among others. Its production was handled by Pheelz, Samklef, I.D Cabasa, 2Kriss and Tyrone. YBNL was supported by the singles "Ilefo Illuminati", "First of All", "Stupid Love" and "Voice of the Street".

Adekunle Almoruf Kosoko, known professionally as Adekunle Gold and AG Baby, is a Nigerian Afrobeats singer and songwriter currently signed to Def Jam Recordings. He gained widespread attention after releasing the 2015 hit single "Sade", a highlife cover of One Direction's "Story of My Life". He signed a record deal with YBNL Nation and released his 2015 debut studio album Gold, which debuted at number 7 on the Billboard World Albums chart. Gold was preceded by the release of three singles: "Sade", "Orente" and "Pick Up". Adekunle Gold revealed to Nigerian Entertainment Today that prior to signing with YBNL, he designed the label's official logo and completed other designs for Lil Kesh, Viktoh and Olamide. <i>Mr. Money with the Vibe</i> 2022 studio album by Asake

Mr. Money with the Vibe is the debut studio album by Nigerian singer Asake, following his signing with YBNL Nation in February 2022. It was released on 7 September 2022 through Empire Distribution. The album comprises 12 tracks, which were all produced by Magicsticks. The album features two guest appearances from Russ and Burna Boy. Two other tracks which have been previously released as singles from the album are "Peace Be Unto You (PBUY)" and "Terminator" which were released in June 2022 and August 2022 respectively. This album release is a follow-up to his extended play Ololade Asake which was released in February 2022 immediately after being signed by Olamide to YBNL. Following the album's release, it peaked at number 66 on the Billboard 200 chart in September 2022.
