The Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles men's basketball team is the men's basketball team that represents Tennessee Tech in Cookeville, Tennessee, United States. The school's team currently competes in the Ohio Valley Conference of NCAA Division I college basketball. Tennessee Tech has fielded a varsity men's basketball team since 1922. [2]
The Golden Eagles have appeared in three NCAA Tournaments. Their combined record is 0–2. They have not reached the Tournament in sixty years, the third longest in NCAA Division I Tournament history.

Hooper Eblen Center, often called The Hoop by students, is a 9,282-seat multi-purpose arena located on the campus of Tennessee Tech in Cookeville, Tennessee. Named for former TTU coach and professor Hooper Eblen, the arena is home to the Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles men's basketball and Golden Eagles women's basketball teams. Before the construction of the arena, the on-campus home to the Tennessee Tech men's and women's basketball teams was the Memorial Gym, a post-War gymnasium located on the quadrangle.
Tucker Stadium is a 16,500-seat multi-purpose stadium in Cookeville, Tennessee. It is home to the Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles football team, and is named for former coach Wilburn Tucker. The football field is named Overall Field in honor of former coach and administrator P. V. Overall.
The Winthrop Eagles men's basketball team represents Winthrop University in Rock Hill, South Carolina, United States and competes in the Big South Conference. Winthrop plays their home games in the 6,100 seat Winthrop Coliseum. Winthrop has appeared in 11 NCAA Tournaments and has won 11 conference season championships, 13 conference tournament championships, and 1 conference division title. The Evansville Purple Aces men's basketball team represents the Purple Aces of the University of Evansville, located in Evansville, Indiana, in NCAA Division I basketball competition. Steve Payne is an American college basketball coach. He currently is a Special Assistant to the Head Coach for the Cleveland State Vikings. Most recently he was the men's basketball coach at Tennessee Technological University in Cookeville, Tennessee, until his resignation following the conclusion of the 2018–2019 season. The Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles are members of the Ohio Valley Conference and compete in the NCAA's Division I. Payne was appointed the head coach at Tennessee Tech on March 23, 2011, following the retirement of Mike Sutton. Payne had been an assistant to Sutton since the 2002–2003 season.

He represents Canada in international competition. He played college basketball for the Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles and Ryerson Rams at what is now Toronto Metropolitan University.
The 2018–19 Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles men's basketball team represented Tennessee Technological University during the 2018–19 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Golden Eagles, led by eighth-year head coach Steve Payne, played their home games at the Eblen Center in Cookeville, Tennessee as members of the Ohio Valley Conference. They finished the season 8–23 overall, 4–14 in OVC play to finish in last place and missed the conference tournament.
The 2019–20 Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles men's basketball team represented Tennessee Technological University during the 2019–20 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Golden Eagles, led by first-year head coach John Pelphrey, played their home games at the Eblen Center in Cookeville, Tennessee as members of the Ohio Valley Conference (OVC). They finished the season 9–22, 6–12 in OVC play to, finish in ninth place. They failed to qualify for the OVC tournament.
