The mixed doubles tennis event at the 2015 Summer Universiade was held from July 7 to 12 at the Jawol International Tennis Court in Gwangju, South Korea.
Lidziya Marozava and Andrei Vasilevski of Belarus won the gold medal, defeating Alexandra Walker and Darren Walsh of Great Britain in the final, 6–2, 6–3.
Chang Kai-chen and Peng Hsien-yin of Chinese Taipei and Veronika Kudermetova and Aslan Karatsev of Russia won the bronze medals.
The top five seeds receive a bye into the second round.

Switzerland's Marc Rosset defeated Spain's Jordi Arrese in the final, 7–6(7–2), 6–4, 3–6, 4–6, 8–6 to win the gold medal in Men's Singles tennis at the 1992 Summer Olympics. Croatia's Goran Ivanišević and the Unified Team's Andrei Cherkasov won the bronze medals. All four nations won medals in men's singles for the first time.

The men's doubles tennis event at the 2017 Summer Universiade was held from August 22 to 28 at the Taipei Tennis Center in Taipei, Taiwan.
Anna-Lena Grönefeld and Květa Peschke were the defending champions, but chose not to participate together. Grönefeld was scheduled to play alongside Raquel Atawo, but the pair withdrew due to Atawo's abductor injury. Peschke teamed up with Nicole Melichar and successfully defended the title, defeating Mihaela Buzărnescu and Lidziya Marozava in the final, 6–4, 6–2.
Hsieh Cheng-peng and Peng Hsien-yin were the defending champions but chose to defend their title with different partners. Hsieh partnered Christopher Rungkat but lost in the quarterfinals to Toshihide Matsui and Frederik Nielsen. Peng partnered Aliaksandr Bury but lost in the semifinals to Chen Ti and Yi Chu-huan.
This was the first edition of the tournament. Anastasia Potapova and Vera Zvonareva won the title, defeating Alexandra Panova and Galina Voskoboeva in the final, 6–0, 6–3.
The Czech Republic's Barbora Krejčíková and Kateřina Siniaková defeated Switzerland's Belinda Bencic and Viktorija Golubic in the final, 7–5, 6–1 to win the gold medal in Women's Doubles tennis at the 2020 Summer Olympics. It was the Czech Republic's first victory in women's doubles, and its third consecutive medal. In the bronze medal match, Brazil's Laura Pigossi and Luisa Stefani defeated Veronika Kudermetova and Elena Vesnina of the Russian Olympic Committee, 4–6, 6–4, [11–9]. It was Brazil's first Olympic tennis medal.
Tímea Babos and Kristina Mladenovic won their second Australian Open title, defeating Hsieh Su-wei and Barbora Strýcová in the final, 6–2, 6–1. Despite the loss, Hsieh regained the WTA no. 1 doubles ranking for the first time since 2014, replacing her partner Strýcová. Mladenovic, Aryna Sabalenka and Xu Yifan were also in contention for the top ranking at the start of the tournament.
Germany's Alexander Zverev defeated Karen Khachanov of the Russian Olympic Committee in the final, 6–3, 6–1, to win the gold medal in Men's Singles tennis at the 2020 Summer Olympics. It was both countries' first medals at the event since 2000, and Germany's first victory. In the bronze medal match, Spain's Pablo Carreño Busta defeated Serbia's Novak Djokovic, 6–4, 6–7(6–8), 6–3.
Tímea Babos and Kristina Mladenovic were the defending champions and successfully defended their title, defeating Alexa Guarachi and Desirae Krawczyk in the final, 6–4, 7–5.
