Armia Ludowa Pro-Soviet resistance militia in Nazi-occupied Poland near the end of WWII

Armia Ludowa was a communist Soviet-backed partisan force set up by the communist Polish Workers' Party (PPR) during World War II. It was created on the order of the Polish State National Council on 1 January 1944. Its aims were to fight against Nazi Germany in occupied Poland, support the Soviet Red Army against the German forces and aid in the creation of a pro-Soviet communist government in Poland.

Hanna Polak

Central Committee of Polish Jews

The Central Committee of Polish Jews also referred to as the Central Committee of Jews in Poland and abbreviated CKŻP, was a state-sponsored political representation of Jews in Poland at the end of World War II. It was established on November 12, 1944, as the successor of the Provisional Central Committee of Polish Jews formed a month earlier under the umbrella of the communist Polish Committee of National Liberation (PKWN). The CKŻP provided care and assistance to Jews who survived the Holocaust. It legally represented all CKŻP-registered Polish Jews in their dealings with the new government and its agencies. It existed until 1950 when, together with the Jewish Cultural Society, representatives of CKŻP founded the Socio-Cultural Association of Jews in Poland.

Albert Stankowski is a Polish historian and a member of the Jewish Historical Institute Association in Poland (2011-2015). He is a former Head of the Digital Collection Department of the Museum of the History of Polish Jews., adviser for contacts with the Jewish community, and originator and creator of Virtual Shtetl. On March the 2nd, 2018 he was appointed by the deputy prime minister and minister of culture and national heritage Piotr Gliński, for the position of head of the Warsaw Ghetto Museum.

Włodzimierz Borodziej Polish historian and writer

Włodzimierz Borodziej was a Polish historian and writer specializing in contemporary European history with particular focus on Polish-German relations. Borodziej was a professor of humanistic sciences, and former prorector of the Warsaw University. He was the Polish-side Chairman of German-Polish Textbook Commission from 1997 to 2007.

The sixth series of Warsaw Shore, a Polish television programme based in Warsaw, Poland was announced on 16 June 2016. The sixth season began airing on 28 August 2016. This was the first series not to include Anna Ryśnik since she made her exit during the previous series. Ewelina Kubiak and twin brothers Pauly and Pietro Kluk also left the show and was the first to feature new cast members Aleksandra Smoleń and Piotr Polak. Ahead of the series it was confirmed that the series would be filmed in Mielno. On 20 October 2016 it was announced that Klaudia Stec had quit the show mid-series and was replaced by new cast member Ewelina "Młoda" Bańkowska.

Maria Bogucka

Maria Bogucka was a Polish historian, science popularizer professor, dr.hab., former professor at the Faculty of Polish Philology Pułtusk Academy of Humanities, Pułtusk, Poland. She authored over 40 books.

The fifteenth series of Warsaw Shore, a Polish television programme based in Warsaw, Poland was announced in February 2021 and began airing on 28 March 2021. The photos were taken in Warsaw, in compliance with all safety rules related to the COVID-19 pandemic. This is the first series not to include Ewelina Kubiak, Piotr Polak, Joanna Bałdys, Daniel "Arnold" Jabłoński, Paulina Karbowiak and Michał Eliszer after their departures the previous season. It will also be the first series to include six new cast members Oliwia Dziatkiewicz, Jeremiasz "Jez" Szmigiel, Lena Majewska, Dominik Raczkowski, Patrycja Morkowska and Kamil Jagielski. The series also featured the brief return of three former cast members Piotr Polak, Alan Kwieciński and Michał Eliszer. This was the final series to include cast members Damian "Dzik" Graf, Ewa Piekut, Kinga Gondorowicz, and Maciek Szczukiewicz.

Northern Communal Cemetery Cemetery in Warsaw, Poland

Northern Communal Cemetery is one of the largest cemeteries in Poland and Europe, located in Młociny and Wólka Węglowa in the Bielany district of Warsaw, Poland. The site for the cemetery was established in the 1960s at the northern outskirts of the city and partly in the area of the village of Wólka Węglowa. The cemetery was opened in 1973 and so far nearly 180,000 of the dead have been buried here.
