Terilyn A. Shropshire is an American motion picture and television editor. She is the daughter of Thomas B. Shropshire, a corporate executive.

Her big break as a motion picture editor came when she was hired to cut Eve's Bayou, the auspicious feature directing debut of actress Kasi Lemmons. The film went on to become the highest grossing independent film of 1997, [1] and it received numerous awards including Best First Feature at the Independent Spirit Awards. After the success of the film, Spike Lee suggested her to director Gina Prince-Bythewood for her breakout film Love & Basketball . [2] She has collaborated with both Lemmons and Prince-Bythewood on nearly all of their films. [3]

Shropshire has received an Eddie Award from the American Cinema Editors and has been nominated for an Emmy Award. She has been elected as a member of the American Cinema Editors. [4]

The Woman King is a 2022 American historical action-adventure film about the Agojie, the all-female warrior unit that protected the West African kingdom of Dahomey during the 17th to 19th centuries. Set in the 1820s, the film stars Viola Davis as a general who trains the next generation of warriors to fight their enemies. It is directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood and written by Dana Stevens, based on a story she wrote with Maria Bello. The 32nd Annual Gotham Awards, presented by The Gotham Film & Media Institute, were held on November 28, 2022. The nominees were announced on October 25, 2022, by Angelica Ross and Jeffrey Sharp. The Old Guard is a series of graphic novels created by Greg Rucka and Leandro Fernández and published by Image Comics. It has released over 16 issues from three series. A film adaptation from Netflix and Skydance Media was made in 2020, with a sequel in the works. The series follows a group of immortal soldiers, known as The Old Guard, led by a woman named Andromache of Scythia (Andy) who has been alive for several thousands of years.

The 73rd American Cinema Editors Eddie Awards were presented on March 5, 2023, at the Royce Hall in Los Angeles, honoring the best editors in films and television of 2022. The nominees were announced on February 1, 2023.
