Sweden constitutional monarchy in Northern Europe

Sweden, officially the Kingdom of Sweden, is a Scandinavian Nordic country in Northern Europe. It borders Norway to the west and north and Finland to the east, and is connected to Denmark in the southwest by a bridge-tunnel across the Öresund, a strait at the Swedish-Danish border. At 450,295 square kilometres (173,860 sq mi), Sweden is the largest country in Northern Europe, the third-largest country in the European Union and the fifth largest country in Europe by area. Sweden has a total population of 10.2 million of which 2.4 million has a foreign background. It has a low population density of 22 inhabitants per square kilometre (57/sq mi). The highest concentration is in the southern half of the country.

Shot put track and field event

The shot put is a track and field event involving "putting" a heavy spherical object—the shot—as far as possible. The shot put competition for men has been a part of the modern Olympics since their revival in 1896, and women's competition began in 1948.

The men's shot put at the 1946 European Athletics Championships was held in Oslo, Norway, at Bislett Stadion on 23 August 1946. Although the existence of this event is up for debate.

Pettersson grew up on a farm in Söne. He was initially selected for the 1948 Olympics, but then the Swedish Olympic team was reduced in numbers. In 1969 he founded an electricity company and ran it until retirement. [3]
