TheCable is an independent online newspaper in Nigeria. It was launched on April 29, 2014 by Simon Kolawole, the former editor of This Day newspaper. [1] Its publisher, Cable Newspaper Ltd, was established on November 29, 2011.

The Moscow Times is an independent English-language and Russian-language online newspaper. It was in print in Russia from 1992 until 2017 and was distributed free of charge at places frequented by English-speaking tourists and expatriates such as hotels, cafés, embassies, and airlines, and also by subscription. Fisayo Soyombo, is a Nigerian investigative journalist and founder of the Foundation for Investigative Journalism (FIJ). He was a former editor at The Cable. He is best known, among other things, for being the Nigerian undercover journalist who spent five days in a police cell as a suspect and eight as an inmate in Ikoyi Prison — to track corruption in Nigeria's criminal justice system, after which the authorities contemplated arresting him. He was also the journalist who drove the equivalent of a stolen vehicle from Abuja to Lagos, passing through a whopping 86 checkpoints in a journey of over 1,600 km that lasted a cumulative 28hours 17minutes.

The 2022 Nigerian gubernatorial elections were held on 18 June 2022, in Ekiti State, and on 16 July 2022, in Osun State. The last regular gubernatorial elections for both states were in 2018. Before the elections, the All Progressives Congress held both offices with Ekiti Governor Kayode Fayemi being term-limited after serving his second nonconsecutive term and Osun Governor Gboyega Oyetola running for a second term with his party's nomination. In the post-elections situation, the APC held Ekiti with a victory for former Secretary to the State Government Abiodun Oyebanji but lost Osun as Oyetola was defeated by former Senator Ademola Adeleke—the nominee of the Peoples Democratic Party.

Former Secretary to the State Government Abiodun Oyebanji held the office for the APC by a 30% margin over first runner-up and SDP nominee—former Governor Olusegun Oni.

Taiwo Musbau Kolawole is a Nigerian politician, administrator and statistician elected as member of the Federal House of Representatives in the 9th Nigerian National Assembly representing Ajeromi/Ifelodun constituency since 2019. A member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Kolawole polled a total of 36,115 votes to defeat the Peoples Democratic Party candidate (PDP), Mrs Rita Orji, who got 32,557 votes in the supplementary election in the 2019 Nigerian General Elections.

Foundation for Investigative Journalism (FIJ) is a Nigerian investigative journalism organization founded by Fisayo Soyombo in June 2020. FIJ reports on social justice, human rights abuse, and corruption in Nigeria. FIJ's online newspaper began operations on Wednesday, January. 20, 2021 with the publication of the extrajudicial killing of End SARS protesters at the Lekki tollgate area on October 20, 2020.
