The 10 was a Greek TV series that was aired in 2007-08 season by Alpha TV. The screenplay was based in the novel "The 10" written by M. Karagatsis and was directed by Pigi Dimitrakopoulou. The adapted screenplay was written by Stavros Kalafatidis, Mary Zafeiropoulou and Giorgos Kritikos. The series star Dimitris Kataleifos, Maria Zorba, Reni Pittaki, Maria Nafpliotou, Alexandros Logothetis, Thaleia Matika, Vassilis Charalampopoulos and others. [1] The series won 11 television awards in "Prosopa" Greek Television Awards.

Plot

The series follows the novel and presents as main characters the tenants of an old block of flats near Piraeus, during 1950s. The owner of the block is a rich man, named Kalogeras. His nephew is a tenant of the block and he hopes to be his heir. The series also focuses to a lot of other characters from the neighbourhood near the block of flats or other persons related with the main characters. [2]

The "Prosopa" Greek Television Awards were annual awards about the Greek television. They were the only notable awards in the history of Greek television, since they lasted thirteen years, covering the most successful period of the Greek television. They began in 1997, organised by Tv Ethnos, a magazine issued by the Greek newspaper Ethnos. The last awards were given in 2009. The next years the awards stopped because the productions of Greek television were limited due to Greek debt crisis. The last years the awards were sponsored by telecommunications company WIND Hellas.

Mirella Papaeconomou, born in Athens, is a Greek screenwriter for TV series. She has studied English literature and set and costume design in London, as well as set and costume design and advertising in Vacalo Arts and Design College, in Athens. She has worked for the theatre as production designer. Her first screenplay was written in 1984. Since 1984 she has written many screenplays for TV series that have become great hits. Dιo Xenoi is the title of a Greek romance comedy television series aired by Mega Channel in the 1997–1999 seasons. The screenplay was written by Alexandros Rigas and Dimitris Apostolou. The series presents the development and evolution of a love affair between a popular and low-educated young woman, TV presenter of light content, and an ancient drama teacher with intensely haughty principles and introverted personality. It was one of the most successful series of Greek television and it won the best comedy series award in the "Prosopa" Greek Television Awards in 1998. Since then, it has been shown on repeat every year due to the huge success it experienced. The 10 is an unfinished novel written by M. Karagatsis. The novel was written in 1960 and was the last novel of M. Karagatsis. Although it was unfinished, the novel was released in 1964 by Estia Publications, four years after the death of Karagatsis. Since then, the novel has many new publications. The 10 was adapted for TV series by the director Pigi Dimitrakopoulou, in 2007. The adapted screenplay was written by Stavros Kalafatidis, Mary Zafeiropoulou and Giorgos Kritikos.

I Aithousa tou thronou is a Greek drama TV series, aired in the season 1998-99 by Mega Channel. It is based on the novel of Tasos Athanasiadis and it is directed by Pigi Dimitrakopoulou. The series was one of the most expensive production in the Greek television. It stars Aris Lempesopoulos, Maria Nafpliotou, Myrto Alikaki, Dimitris Lignadis. The series it was the last role of the important Greek actor Nikos Rizos. The scenes of series was shot in Syros and Attica. I Aithousa tou Thronou won the best Drama series award and the best director award, in the Greek television awards for the period 1998-99.
