The Celestics are a Canadian hip hop duo from Montreal. Formed in 2011, the duo is composed of two brothers, rapper Lou Phelps and producer/DJ Kaytranada. Their debut studio project, titled Massively Massive, was independently released in 2011. The Celestics released their second project, titled Supreme Laziness, on May 20, 2014. [1] [2]

Career

2011–2014: Early beginnings

The Celestics began as Louie P. & Kaytradamus. They independently released their first project titled Massively Massive via BandCamp in 2011.

2014-present: Supreme Laziness & 001: Experiments

On May 20, 2014 the duo released their second project titled Supreme Laziness. The project featured guest appearances from GoldLink, Dudley Doo, Nana Zen, Costa Joe & ST [3] [4] [5]

On April 20, 2017, Lou Phelps released his debut solo project titled 001: Experiments – the project was produced entirely by Kaytranada. The project featured guest appearances by Bishop Nehru, Innanet James and Kallitechnis. [6]

Personal life

Lou Phelps is the younger brother of Kaytranada. [7]

Gerald Joshua Walker, is an American rapper and singer from Chicago, Illinois. He signed to fellow Midwestern rapper Stalley's label, Blue Collar Gang in 2018. Walker is known for his soul influenced style of hip-hop, and his association with rappers Layzie Bone of Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, Yelawolf, Skyzoo and Rockie Fresh, as well as record producer Cardo.

Louis Kevin Celestin, known professionally as Kaytranada, is a Haitian-Canadian music producer, rapper, singer and DJ. Celestin rose to prominence after releasing a series of mixtapes, remixes, and original music projects beginning in 2010 under the alias Kaytradamus. By 2013, and under the moniker Kaytranada, he began gaining wider recognition and, the following year, signed a deal with XL Recordings, with whom he would release his critically acclaimed debut studio album 99.9% in 2016. In 2019, he released its follow-up, Bubba, for which he won two Grammy Awards including Best Dance/Electronic Album. Celestin is one half of the hip hop duo the Celestics, along with his brother Lou Phelps.

Preston Oshita, better known by his stage name Towkio, is an American rapper from Chicago, Illinois. He was previously known as Young P, Preston San, and Tokyo Shawn. He is a member of the Savemoney crew. His debut studio album, WWW., was released in 2018.

Louis-Philippe Celestin, better known by his stage name Lou Phelps, is a Haitian-Canadian rapper and producer from Saint-Hubert, Quebec. He is a member of the Canadian hip hop duo The Celestics alongside his brother Kaytranada.

The following is the discography of Kaytranada. Active since 2010, Kaytranada first released a series of mixtapes and original music under the name Kaytradamus. He released his first critically acclaimed studio album, 99.9%, in 2016, which he followed up with the Grammy-winner Bubba in 2019.
