The Chain Gang is a British radio series broadcast on the digital radio station BBC 7. There have so far been two series, the first in 2004 and the second in 2007. The format of the series is that the first episode is scripted by the production team and ends with a cliffhanger. Listeners are then invited to write further episodes. The best submission is then recorded and transmitted and again ends with cliffhanger, after which listeners can submit further suggestions.
The first series was entitled Amnesia and had six episodes. The second was entitled Picture This, with the initial and final script supplied by Rob Shearman better known as a script writer for the television series Doctor Who . The second series consisted of thirteen episodes and three alternate endings.

The Archers is a BBC radio drama on BBC Radio 4, their main spoken-word channel. Broadcast since 1951, it was initially billed as "an everyday story of country folk" and is now promoted as "a contemporary drama in a rural setting". Having aired over 19,500 episodes, it is the world's longest-running drama by number of episodes, and will become so by duration in 2023.
A cliffhanger or cliffhanger ending is a plot device in fiction which features a main character in a precarious or difficult dilemma or confronted with a shocking revelation at the end of an episode or a film of serialized fiction. A cliffhanger is hoped to incentivize the audience to return to see how the characters resolve the dilemma.
BBC Radio 4 Extra is a British digital radio station from the BBC, broadcasting archived repeats of comedy, drama and documentary programmes originally on BBC Radio 4 nationally, 24 hours a day. It is the principal broadcaster of the BBC's spoken-word archive, and as a result the majority of its programming originates from that archive. It also broadcasts extended and companion programmes to those broadcast on sister station BBC Radio 4, and provides a "catch-up" service for certain Radio 4 programmes.

Benson is an American sitcom television series that originally aired on ABC from September 13, 1979, to April 19, 1986. The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a BBC television adaptation of Douglas Adams's The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy which was broadcast in January and February 1981 on UK television station BBC Two. A Series of Psychotic Episodes, also known as Series of Psychotic Episodes, is a Sony Award nominated surreal comedy sketch show written by and starring Miriam Elia. Dan and Phil is a British radio show that aired on BBC Radio 1 from 2013 to 2014. It was presented by Dan Howell and Phil Lester, who are most commonly known as Dan and Phil. The show was a spiritual successor to the original Request Show on the station, allowing listeners to request songs to be played but also encompassing additional entertainment features. It was loosely based on Dan and Phil's now discontinued internet series, The Super Amazing Project, which included segments such as Internet News.
