The Cloud is a global tech platform which develops and implements an Airbnb-like approach on the foodtech market transforming restaurants into cloud kitchens. It is supported by Hub71, Abu Dhabi's global tech ecosystem. [1] [2]

History

The Cloud was established in 2019 by Kamil Rogalinski and George Karam. [3] [4] Between November 2019 and June 2020, The Cloud successfully raised pre-seed funding from Singapore-based Elēkrŏn Ventures. [1] [4] In November 2020, a successful seed round was raised from Middle East Venture Partners. [1] [4] In December 2021, The Cloud raised another $10 million. [1] [5] [6] [7] [4]

In April 2022, The Cloud partnered with E-Tips, a cashless tipping and review platform, to create a new way for customers to give back during the Holy month of Ramadan. The new «Tip The Chef» campaign covers delivery-only restaurants across major cities like Abu Dhabi and Dubai. The campaign allows customers to tip not only delivery drivers but also chefs and kitchen staff.
