The Desk is a short comedy/horror/sci-fi film that premiered at the Toronto Comedy Short Film Festival in 2010, where it won the Audience Choice award.[ citation needed ] The short was written and directed by Alex R. Gonzalez and stars Ron Sparks.

For his work on the film, he won the Golden Globe Award for Best Screenplay and earned the Academy Awards for Best Picture and Best Original Screenplay.
