The Dubbeez was a Dutch reggae band from Amsterdam and Almere. [1]

History

The band won the "Battle of the Bands" at Uitmarkt Festival in Amsterdam in September 2015. [2]

In 2016 The Dubbeez participated at the Reggaeville's World Reggae Contest, being selected among the five finalists. [3] They performed at the final night of the Ostróda Reggae Festival in Poland and won the competition. [4]

The band released its first studio album Love, Peace & Dub on 26 January 2018. [4] [5] The same year they performed at Antilliaanse Feesten. [6]

On 4 January 2019 the band published a post on their Facebook account stating «We've been locked up in the studio making new music. We can't wait to share it with you all». [7] This was later revealed to be untrue, since the band split the next month as announced on the same page on 5 February 2019. [8]

Josh Heinrichs is an American reggae singer/songwriter who was the former lead singer of internationally known indie reggae band, Jah Roots and current owner/operator of indie reggae record label, GanJah Records. Since leaving the band in 2008, Heinrichs has launched a successful solo career and has released several albums, including a #1 Billboard charting release with Good Vibes in 2016.

Their sound blends dub-heavy roots reggae, smooth lovers' rock, contemporary pop and rock with indigenous Hawaiian musical/lyrical references.
