The Good Pub Guide is a long-running critical publication which lists and rates public houses (pubs) in the United Kingdom. [1]
Published by Random House's Ebury Publishing subsidiary since 1982, it is released annually in book form and, since 2009, online [1] until 2021.
By 2009, the book form guide contained over 5,000 of pubs based upon food, drink, and atmosphere. There were 1,140 fully inspected main entries and 1,931 entries recommended by readers which had yet to be inspected. In addition, the website contained a list of 55,000 pubs. [1] [2] The last edition published was 2021.
Pubs receive a categorisation according to the findings of a GPG inspection. In order of the highest rating first, they are:

Random House Webster's Unabridged Dictionary is a large American dictionary, first published in 1966 as The Random House Dictionary of the English Language: The Unabridged Edition. Edited by Editor-in-chief Jess Stein, it contained 315,000 entries in 2256 pages, as well as 2400 illustrations. The CD-ROM version in 1994 also included 120,000 spoken pronunciations.
The Good Food Guide is a guide to the best restaurants, pubs and cafés in Great Britain. It was first published in 1951.

The Good Hotel Guide is an annual book publication, founded in 1977, listing and describing what they profess to be the finest hotels in Great Britain and Ireland. It also publishes a Continental Europe edition and a combined Great Britain and Western Europe guide book. The company has its headquarters at 50 Addison Avenue, London. The Daily Telegraph in 2006 said of The Good Hotel Guide: 'The clear leader in recommending hotels of quality and character while not accepting payment for inclusion or free hospitality.'
