The Great Western Chorus of Bristol (formerly Great Western Chorus of the Bristol Barbershop Harmony Club, also formerly Western Gateway Chorus, also known as GWC) is a men's a cappella chorus singing primarily in the Barbershop style. It is a founder member of the British Association of Barbershop Singers, with whom the chorus shared its 40th anniversary in 2014. The Great Western Chorus is the most successful chorus in the association.
The Great Western Chorus of Bristol was founded in 1974, [1] following a visit by American Barbershop singers to the city. [2] [3]
The chorus holds the record for the most gold medals awarded in the BABS national chorus contest, winning for the tenth time in May 2017. [4] In addition to being winners of a record ten BABS gold medals (1977, 1980, 1981, 1983, 1988, 1990, 2008, [5] 2010, [6] 2015 [7] and 2017), [8] the chorus are four times BABS silver medalists and five times bronze medallists and hold more chorus competition medals than any other chorus in the association. They have also always placed within the top five nationally.
The chorus was Radio 3 "Choir of the Year" 2006 finalists [9] and won the men's choir class of the inaugural Barnardo's Adult Choir Competition in 2013.

The Barbershop Harmony Society, legally and historically named the Society for the Preservation and Encouragement of Barber Shop Quartet Singing in America, Inc. (SPEBSQSA), is the first of several organizations to promote and preserve barbershop music as an art form. Founded by Owen C. Cash and Rupert I. Hall in Tulsa, Oklahoma in 1938, the organization quickly grew, promoting barbershop harmony among men of all ages. As of 2014, just under 23,000 men in the United States and Canada were members of this organization whose focus is on a cappella music. The international headquarters was in Kenosha, Wisconsin for fifty years before moving to Nashville, Tennessee in 2007. In June 2018, the society announced it would allow women to join as full members.

Hallmark of Harmony is the male barbershop chorus of the Sheffield Barbershop Harmony Club, based in Sheffield, England. The chorus formed in 1978 and has won the British Association of Barbershop Singers (BABS) gold medal eight times, in 1986, 1989, 1991, 1994, 1997, 2000, 2014 and 2019. It won the silver medal in 1983, 1984, 1988, 1993, 1996, 1999 and 2013 & bronze in 1985 and 2012.

Mišel Lozanić is a Serbian professional fitness and bodybuilding competitor, fitness model and personal trainer. He has won a two World championships: he was placed first at the WABBA World championship in 2016 in Verona, Italy and at the IBFA World championship in 2016 in Rome, Italy. He is a WBPF European champion. Since 2014, he has been the Serbian WBPF national champion. Lozanic also placed at WBPF World championships in 2014 in Mumbai, India and in 2015 in Bangkok, Thailand. Lozanić is now competing under IFBB.
Finest Hour is the 2017 European barbershop quartet champion. The quartet also won the 2016 British barbershop quartet championship in Harrogate in May 2016. Finest Hour went to Las Vegas for the international competition in 2017, placing 28th in the world. Since then, their qualifying score of 83%, the UK record for a male quartet, scored in May 2018 in Harrogate, qualified them again to represent the British Association of Barbershop Singers (BABS) at the Barbershop Harmony Society (BHS)'s 2019 international competition held in Salt Lake City, where they placed 22nd.
Miguel Santiago "Mike" Roche is an American middle-distance runner. He competed in the men's 3000 metres steeplechase at the 1976 Summer Olympics. Roche was an 1975 NCAA All-American in the 3000 steeplechase while attending Rutgers University. He was ranked in the top 10 US Steeplechasers from 1975 to 1980. In 1978, Roche was a member of the silver medal-winning US International Cross Country team competing in Glasgow, Scotland. On July 4, 1978, Roche beat 12,000 runners at the Peachtree Road Race in Atlanta, GA, setting a new course record (28:59)in the process. In March 1981, Roche established a new American Record for 10 miles with a time of 46:57 at Cherry Hill, NJ. The record would stand for 2 years.
The World Trail Orienteering Championships (WTOC) were first held in 2004 and annually since them. The majority of the championships were held in Europe, with 2005 the only exception up to date.
